Unlock the Secrets of Warehouse 13

by Cynthia on October 30th, 2007

“Part X-Files, part Raiders of the Lost Ark, and part Moonlighting.”

That’s how SCI FI Channel is describing their upcoming series Warehouse 13. The one hour dramedy will begin production this December to air in the summer of 2008.

The story is based on a script by Rockne O’Bannon, D. Brent Mote and my favorite Buffy writer, Jane Espenson. It revolves around two FBI agents who get “promoted” after saving the life of the President. They’re sent to a top-secret storage facility in South Dakota that houses hundreds of strange artifacts and supernatural goodies. The agents are assigned to search for missing artifacts stolen from the facility and look for signs of new items to be collected before the locals get wind of what they really are.

To me, this sounds like a cross between Torchwood and Reaper with a touch of Supernatural thrown in. (Can you say Bella?) It all sounds good to me. The make it or break it will be the casting of the two leads. If they can come up with a Mulder and Scully chemistry or even Booth and Bones, it’ll be a winner in my book.
