“Spock, I am Your Mother”
Variety is reporting that Winona Ryder has joined the cast of the new Star Trek movie in the role of Spock’s mother.
A day earlier, it was announced that Bruce Greenwood was on board to play Captain Pike. Other cast members include Chris Pine as Young Kirk, Karl Urban as Young Bones, Zoe Saldana as Young Uhura, John Cho as Young Sulu, Simon Pegg as Young Scotty and Anton Yelchin as Young Chekov and of course Zachary Quinto as young Spock.
In related news, there is much speculation that an add for extras for the move “Corporate Headquarters” is really the Star Trek flick in disguise. The casting notice asks for “Talent with interesting and unique facial features” as well as people with ROTC or marching band experience. It also notes that they must be “fit” because the wardrobe is form fitting.
