Moonlight Star Wants Backstories
Talking to SCI FI Wire, Shannyn Sossamon said that she would like to see a change in the direction of her new series Moonlight.
“I think there are too many procedural elements in the show. I don’t think any of the audience members are sitting at home going, ‘Gosh, I wonder what case Mick St. John’s going to have this week? I’m so curious.’ No, you care about the other stuff.”
Sossamon says she would like to see more historical flashbacks which, of course, means more screen time for her as the vampire Coraline.
Am I the only person who enjoys seeing Mick solve cases? I’d be happy if the show turned into Night Stalker with Mick chasing down spooky bad guys each week. What do you think? More detective work for Mick, or would you prefer to see more flashbacks to the past?
Trivia: It drove me crazy until I figured out where I’d seen Shannyn Sossamon before. She stars with Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles in the low-budget, bizarro horror film Devour.

Shannyn has it only partially correct. What we really want to see is more Mick and Beth followed by Josef followed by some cases that Mick and Beth solve together. Truthfully, maybe some back story, but too much would be boring. It’d be nice to know more about Josef’s character, but we know enough about Coraline already. Sorry Shannyn.
