I would make it illegal to use all that wasteful extra packaging on stuff. Putting something in a bag, sticking the bag in the box and then sealing the box in one of those hard plastic cases is just insane. I had so much recycling after Christmas that didn’t even need to be produced in the first place.

Force automakers of Big Rigs and Buses to figure out how to produce vehicles that emit less pollution and make them environmentally friendly…and make such vehicles affordable so that companies can replace existing polluting vehicles.

To make the world a better place I would ban the production and sale of paper/disposable diapers.
This convenience item is filling up our landfills, uses untold amounts of natural resources including petrochemicals and is a huge source of biological waste and a vector for infection and disease.
Cloth diapers today do not require pins, they have elastic legs and can be reused over and over again. Handling them is no less messy than dealing with paper and they are far more economical in the long run for budget conscious families. An added bonus to cloth diapers is that since they do not contain the synthetic gels that trap liquid that disposables do children feel wet, and wet is not comfortable. Kids who have cloth diapers are potty trained faster and much younger than ones who wear disposables.
Again saving families more money and the earth’s precious resources.

I would eliminate religious dogma from our reality as it has been the basis for many wars and conflicts in our history and continues to cause strife today with people thinking others need to be ‘converted’. Note: I did NOT say to eliminate spirituality, which I believe to be a very healthy thing.

I would have the power to reapportion things according to need. For example, say your last child has outgrown all of his baby things, they would be given to parents who needed those things. That way the environment would be less damaged by people throwing things away and others would save money.

I would pass a global resolution for thirty minutes of peace each day. This would happen randomly, at any time, everywhere in the world, so long as everyone is doing it at the same time. Whatever people are doing at that moment, they have to stop and reconsider.

One possible answer
The world is a machine that takes care of it’s self; view it as a house requiring periodic spring-cleaning. the reality of today problem’s and the mistakes of tomorrow answers are in the hands of greedy, misguiding and powerful so called leader’s who incorporate failed ideas upon mankind’s future who try to convince the world human nature is responsible their lies.
To cure Earth is quit simple - I would replace fake leaders with people who’s every thought and technological advancements benefits the security, success of Earth/Humankind Alike.
addressed failed politically motivated propaganda thus ill use of military strengths -Corrective measures directing ally military support implement strategic movement as primary objective to subvert remaining terrorism; either with diplomatic temperance but not limiting military use of deadly- force thus eradication of false socially structured ideals replaced with publicly known ethical ideals which provides both scientific healing and safe guard mankind’s continual growth and knowledge of directive law reflects constant safety regarding the future and advancement of Earth stability:
Truth in heart and mind in the arms of God Almighty: greatness
Within fifty year’s of hard work and simple ideals, humankind would witness Earth healing and advancement’s in ways before thought impossible through Human hands alone!
We are a one people as we should stand proud for each other; because all life great and small are Gods beloved children…..

The first thing I would do is feed the hungry. There is no reason anyone in this world should not have anything to eat! Then, medical help would be given to those who need it, regardless of their income or insurance policies. The “Holy Wars” are a concern of mine, but one of the most difficult to solve. It is so ingrained in children and then adults to fight! Thanks,Cindi

Anonymously, I would make everyone see how the world is changing and what everyone can do to change the world for the better THEMSELVES. One person CANNOT make things better for the future. Plus, the one thing to do it is to make a lifelong commitment to change. As corny as it sounds, it is up to everybody to do it together (even if nobody can see it now, these things are happening right now as we speak). I’m not saying that you should break away from yourself but I’m saying to tolerate, love, and understand the world we live in. To appreciate our lives and cherish the things we have. Everything we do will work towards a better future for everything in the world. This would be through something extremely extraordinary because that is the only way to make that kind of impact. That is the way I would try to better the world in the future.

I firmly believe that no one person can single handedly change the future. The actions every single person makes and the events that arise from those actions, no matter the size or scale, all play a part in influencing and changing the same matters to others in one way or another. It’s an endless cycle of paying it forward without really knowing it, and without knowing whether it is good or bad. I think if people began to think more before they act, and how they can turn their action, small or large, to be recognized and thought of in a positive way, then that cycle of hopeful change is more than enough to change and the fight the future.

I agree there are many people who intentions are honorable.
There is an old saying “good has to be very careful when battling evil”
Let us take the world trade centers for example; President Bush made a statement -
Saying to the media, “I saw a plane crash into the building on television”
The press said how is that possible Mr. President because it has not been televised yet.
That’s only one example how comfortable he embraces evil and if I had the power,
I would start an investigation so smooth that sorry waist of skin would be singing like a bird telling whom else are bad apples. We would study the enemy undetected, gathering evidence and when the time becomes correct it will be very clear that WE THE PEOPLE BRING JUSTICE.
.You see in all reality The Terminator braking down their door, would be me hunting their evil from within before they realized who has their number from the gate.
Also evil is so easy to single out because greed is always the purpose behind corruption.
It rather blows my mind how a simple plan could the face of existence a few stinking apples and set so many wrongs right.
I will close from the bible - Revelation 22:10-12
And he said unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
And, behold, I come quickly: and my reword is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
Thank You.

I would develop a real international working group to aggressively deal with the emergent environmental issues, especially global warming. Using technology and historical data provided by the “benevolent” Terminators, this group would try to reverse the damage done to the planet. Just think, Terminators turned into “Greeninators”, performing tasks that could reduce our dependence on ecosystem damaging activities.
We could also program Terminators to be “Barristanators” to really speed up those lines at the coffee shop. A quad-shot, soy, cinnamon, double skinny latte in 2.6 seconds….

Creating a better world all depends upon different perspectives. Different people percieve a better world in various ways. The destruction of the U.S.A would make a better world for our enemies. I think that eliminating the drive for greed and power would be a good start. Awaken people’s drive to better themselves for the world would in turn make the world a better place, in theory. Humanity has been ingrained with a survival instinct. While most of us have become so enamored with our day to day lives we rarely think about others. This would have to be changed to make the world a better place. We must look out for each other.

If you had the power, what would you do RIGHT NOW in order to create a better world in the future?
I’d stop the writer’s strike. I have a feeling that in the future there will be a never ending sea of Reality TV shows. Ah what a nightmare.
That would be the end of all Original story telling.
So yeah, I’d end the writers strike as fast as possible.

“Changing the future is not a power limited to a mere few, but the absolute responsibility of all…”
I would use this mantra to convert non-believers into my cause…changing the future for the good of mankind…to save this race from its own follies.
But, how does the many, or even the one go about doing this? Well, first of all, we must let go of the notion of dealing with our established “leaders.” They caused the problem in the first place, and have neither the ability nor interest in helping us solve it; there’s no profit in it. Attempts at dealing with them logically would only lead to frustration and possible violence…and it’s our violent tendencies that landed us here…no…this revolution must be different. This one has to last…our future depends on it!
Instead, we shall form an army of covert operatives. We shall infiltrate the homes of those in power at the LOWEST levels. We shall pose as, (and in some cases actually become), teachers, counselors, nannies, pastors and the like. We will change the future by feeding the minds that will inherit it with more than just logic and teach them more than just facts! We shall instill in the next generation, the “Generation of Change,” virtues such as compassion and traits such as sympathy and empathy.
Children of the leaders of the most powerful nations on earth will come to think more of their fellow man than the almighty dollar, and will be taught that true power must be tempered with both wisdom and compassion. It will be a noiseless, bloodless, yet unstoppable revolution.
Theirs will be a world not to rebuild after some catastrophic war, but one that they shall inherit together…warts and all, but intact…and they shall work together to undo the scars of our misdeeds left all over this big, blue rock.
In short, not only could we avoid a possible doomsday scenario; we would be able to give to the next generation not just the opportunity to have more than we ever did…we can help them to become the fine people we could have been…we SHOULD have been…but failed. We can succeed now by not failing them.

I would barter peace between all nations.

If I could change the world The first thing I would do is get rid of all non recyclable material. The world had enough garbage. Then I would get all recyceables and get people to recycle them. Then I would stop the cutting of trees in the rain forest. We are loosing a lot of species of animals and taking away their home. This will help reduce the ozone. I would also get cars and busses to use an alternative fuel that can’t hurt our ozone and put a strict regulation on factories to pollute our air. Then I would get rid of nuculer wepons. If we don’t do something about our ozones we will kill us and all animals on earth.
