Summer Glau & Thomas Dekker Answer Our Contest Question

Earlier this month we launched our Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles contest by asking you, the fans, to answer a thought-provoking question:
If you had the power, what would you do RIGHT NOW in order to create a better world in the future?
Last week Sarah Connor herself, Lena Headey and consulting producer James Middleton both gave their answers and now it’s up to Summer Glau and Thomas Dekker!
I caught up to both of them at the LA Comic Book and Science Fiction Convention and here’s what they had to say.
Summer Glau (Cameron):
“This may sound cheesy, but I guess I would change broken homes. I’d like to see families stay together. There are so many reasons for why it’s happening today, but it’s rampant and it really is shaping our youth today. So I guess if I could think of one thing that I could change, that would be it.”
Thomas Dekker (John Connor):
Tom’s first reaction was to give me a patented “pageant” smile, then with his best Miss Congeniality voice and pose, went with, “World Peace.”
But typical of Tom he went from funny to serious in half a second and countered with a very interesting answer:
“I would make the whole world vegetarian, and then I would try to fix America’s national debt and hopefully, if we did all of these things, it would lead to ending world hunger.”

I really like Summer’s answer. She’s 100% right IMO: if we could only fix families, most of our societal problems would follow. Of course, we can slowly accomplish this by teaching children well, so all hope is not lost.
As for Thomas, exactly how would eliminating a major, cheap source of protein “end world hunger?” I’m not sure how much he’s thought that one through. Then again, he’s not a pageant contestant, so it’s not really his job.
