Princess Leia the Hut?
January 16, 2008 by Cynthia
I know people will do almost anything for their fifteen minutes of fame and I think this proves it.
Obviously, Ben Haar of Newark, Delaware knew he didn’t have a shot of making it on American Idol as a singer but he still made it in front of the cameras. Okay, so its entertaining TV, and I really don’t mind it when it’s clear that the person is in on the joke. Sadly, that’s not always the case.
Sweet Christina Tolisano came to the auditions in her Star Wars garb — well sort of. I get the
Princess Leia hair and the Star Wars belt, maybe even the combat boots, but fishnets and hot pants? That must have been in the last Star Wars movie, the one I didn’t see.
This girl went into the auditions thinking she really had a shot and was devastated when they told her no. Now, I don’t care how well you can sing, Simon’s never going to put you through if you show up in costume. I totally get that some people think they can sing when they can’t. I get that some people make fools of themselves on purpose, but people like this who sincerely believe they can win in a Princess Leia costume — that I don’t get.
