RE point 6 (Mal and Kate), I would also like to point out that Kate would likely feel drawn to Mal (S3 spoilers ahead!): surely he must remind her of her ex-husband, the cop.

I especially like the Jayne and Sawyer point, as they’re my favourite characters in each show. Simon having to revert to all those ‘primitive, barbaric’ medicinal methods would also be interesting to see – his gradual breaking down, and acceptance of Jack and his doctoring ways. Jack, of course, would be out-snooted entirely and wouldn’t know what to do with himself

And what about a leadership show-down between Jack and Mal? Especially once Kate gets involved!!
