Destination Truth: 2nd Season Premiere

by Cynthia on March 5th, 2008

Destination_Truth_Gates For me, a big adventure is going to the Ralphs Grocery store on the north side of town instead of the one on the south side. Oh, look! They have that special guacamole that I’ve been looking for! Now that is an amazing find!

Lucky for you, Josh Gates is a tad more adventurous than I, though I do believe we share the same sarcastic streak. He packed his bags and treked to the Himalayas in search of the illusive Yeti and even better, he brought a camera crew along. Gates is the host of the SCI FI Channel series “Destination Truth” and the second season promises to be even bigger, better and more humorous than the one before.

That’s right, I said humorous. What sets this documentary series apart from its History Channel counterparts is the sense of humor. Gates is always there with a wry comment when the customs inspectors in Nepal keep them cooling their heels, when a crazy monk starts throwing rocks at them or when he sticks his head into a cave with very little wiggle room.

Hey, you gotta have a sense of humor about you when you’ve flown half way across the world, hiked up a mountain for four days and there isn’t even a single souvenir stand selling T-shirts. But don’t worry, Gates and his crew bring home something more interesting than I Survived shot glasses — they have a . . . well, I’m not going to tell you what they have, but it’s pretty cool.

I put it to you this way. If you can believe what you see on the TV, that nothing has been manufactured or planted, these guys come up with some pretty compelling evidence that proves the Yeti is real. See for yourself. Watch the season premiere of “Destination Truth” Wednesday, March 5 at 10:00 on SCI FI.

Is this the Araceli that went to middle school in Des Moines Iowa? I taught an Araceli in 8th grade who looks exactly like the Araceli from Destination Truth. Do you have this information?
