Padalecki Heads for Crystal Lake

According to Hollywood Reporter, Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki is in final negotiations to take the lead role in the next Friday the 13th flick. The remake will focus on the Jason character with Padalecki playing an investigator out to discover the secrets behind the killer’s mask.

This would be Jared’s third horror movie with Cry Wolf and House of Wax already under his belt.

    Another Friday the 13th movie? For the love of God, someone put a stake through this franchise and put it out of all of our misery.

    Friday the 13th , I think will live forever. Only because every generation wants more realistic horror films. Every GEN also seems harder to please than the one before. The Exorcist which in the 70’s with Linda Blair had people running to their churches…today is just an amusing movie to this young generation of kids. I’am glad Jared Padalecki is doing the lead in for the movie, but I hope the kid does at least one comedy in the future. You Go Jared.

    i think as long as someone is willing to direct the movie there will always be more. ofcourse as ozzie said that every generation needs better effects and better thrills…more gore, more fun…halloween remade the original (which i must say was more of a porno than horror) but it was scarier and it wasn’t an obvious kill. So considering that there are a billion friday the 13th’s and a billion nightmare on elm’s…then the franchise will live forever…

    also even though the texas chainsaw massacre was based on a true story it was really good and the remake was good and they should make another because i really want to know what happened to leatherface…

    the only scary movie that should be left alone is psycho because norman bates was a loser…

    saw and hostel were good…

    go jared!!!!!
