X-Files Film Has Official Title
The second X-Files movie now has a title. Variety says it will be called X-Files: I Want to Believe.
Apparently six years have elapsed since the end of the series and the film sequel, slated to hit theaters July 25.
Show creator Chris Carter is keeping pretty tight-lipped about the movie’s plot but has said it would stand on its own as a story. Carter told SCI FI.com’s Sci Fi Wire that he wants to “scare the pants off you” like a really good episode of the show.
Since he said “really good” I’m assuming that means no appearances by Robert Patrick or Annabeth Gish. I’m just saying.

Wash your mouth out with soap! Robert and Annaberth was the best thing about the series! They can count me out going to see this movie.

I should say I don’t know for a fact that they won’t be in it, I’m just one of those fans that considers Duchovny leaving to be the “shark jumping” moment for the X-Files.

I’m only going to see XF2 in hopes that it does well enough to give Carter/Spotnitz a chance to do a third movie so that fans can see Doggett (Robert Patrick) again. I do hope that Robert Patrick makes an appearance as John Doggett in this new movie, even if it’s an uncredited cameo appearance.

Are u kiddin’ me?
Quite the opposite!!! It would be REALLY GOOD if Robert Patrick and Annabeth Gish were in this movie, I think they deserve it, they did a great job during the time they were in the series.
This way that as other fans, I’m going to see this movie with the hope of the third one and to have them of return.

I don’t have a problem with them having some parts in the movie but I still think the majority of fans are going to see Mulder and Scully.

How come this one has not been advertised like the other summer sequels that come out this year? Truth be told, I can’t remember seeing any trailer on TV for this film.
What gives, the studio wants it to be a sleeper hit and just use the net to spread the news about it?

Yeah, I don’t get the absolute lack of advertising on this one. They gotta be thinkin’… I don’t what they’re thinkin.
