According to the Hollywood Reporter, Rush Hour director Brett Ratner is in negotiations to direct a remake of The Incredible Shrinking Man.
Eddie Murphy is rumored to star in the revamp of the novel and 1957 genre classic that starred Grant Williams. With Murphy and Ratner attached, it will almost certainly be a comedic take ala Murphy’s Nutty Professor redo.
Why can I not shake the feeling that if this happens, it’s going to be really, really bad? Anyone remember Chevy Chase as the Invisible Man? Yeah, it’s better if you don’t.

All I could think of was: No No No!! This can not be happening. I saw the original when I was younger (on VHS mind you, I was not even born when it came out to begin with) and thought it was very good, corn yes, but good none the less. But Eddie Murphy?? Um, why?
I guess people will remake anything, and with anyone.
the question is not how bad it will be but how many roles will eddie play?
Nothing is sacred in Hollywood. Can Passion of the Christ 2 be far behind? As a side note, has anyone seen the trailer for Eddie’s latest, “Meet Dave.”
People keep writing this man checks, I tell you.
