Uwe Boll Sues Billy Zane Over BloodRayne

May 1, 2008 by brian

Someone, anyone in the movie industry must stop Uwe Boll before he thinks again. This director who makes Ed Wood look like Martin Scorcese is suing actor Billy Zane, claiming Zane owes Boll $700,000 in revenues from the 2006 disaster BloodRayne.

Boll said Zane suggested Romar Entertainment handle distribution of the film and that the actor and Romar principal James Schramm promised Boll a 2,000 screen opening and a $10 million advance.

Only the incredibly hacky Boll would file paperwork in a lawsuit that first required him to admit he directed BloodRayne. Now we know it was all Zane’s fault that movie, which cost $25 million to make, generated only $4 million at the box office. It likely wouldn’t have made even that paltry amount had it not been based on a popular video game.

Here I thought it didn’t make money because it was a poorly acted, poorly cast and above all poorly directed waste of time. I had the misfortune of reviewing this one when it came out and even for the notoriously bad Boll, this is one of his worst. It’s not even bad in a good way, it’s just bad.

I am sorry that you had to waste time watching that. Man is you only had a treadmill to goo back in time.

Video game movies. You know I love ‘em.
