Comings and Goings

TVGuide is reporting that New Amsterdam will not be renewed by Fox.

As expected, Fox picked up the JJ Abrams pilot Fringe about an FBI agent who investigates cases with a mysterious twist.

According to Variety, ABC is close to making a deal with David E. Kelly for the rights to the US version of Life on Mars. The series, about a cop who finds himself transported back in time to the 70’s to hunt a serial killer, is owned by Kelly but after producing the pilot he decided to step away from the project.  ABC is willing to continue without him but must have a deal ($$$$$) in place in order to do that.

And did we mention (if so, it’s still worth repeating) that Firefly stars Morena Baccarin and Nathan Fillion have both been cast in new series for the fall.  Baccarin as a young lawyer in LA in an unnamed drama for ABC and Fillion as a famous mystery writer (hmm…the synopsis used to say horror writer) who helps the police solve crimes in Castle.
