Guess What’s Coming To Dinner

I really thought BSG amped it up this week after some kind of slow episodes. And I’m sure I’m not the first to compliment Gaeta on his excellent singing voice.

Spoilers after the jump…

As they foreshadowed last week, Gaeta lost his leg. As I mentioned though, he has a lovely singing voice. He sings to relieve the “phantom limb” pain. Humanity is at 39,673. The Demetrius and the baseship jump to meet Galactica. The Cylon Rebels are unable to communicate and of course, Demetrius didn’t make it. Galactica’s ready to fire but Col. Tigh suggests they wait.

His Cylon link to the ship buys just enough time for Starbuck to communicate she’s on that ship. Yeah, I thought Tigh being a Cylon was hokey but scenes like this give it a great payoff. The Cylon Rebels propose a truce and are willing to offer the location of the Resurrection Hub in exchange for help in getting D’Anna unboxed.

Without any ability to resurrect, all Cylons would be become mortal for all intents and purposes. Also, D’Anna has seen the faces of the Final Five, who as we learned last week have been to Earth. Um, Kara’s been to Earth. I’m just throwing it out there. Roslin and Adama agree. Tigh just wants to blow the resurrection hub to smithereens. The Cylons still don’t think they can trust the humans so they contemplate taking hostages.

Lee and Roslin talk about her continued strange behavior including visions and working with Cylons. He tells her she has to give the quorum something. What she ends up giving them is a speech from Natalie who tells them that for Cylon lives to have meaning, they must end. I don’t know if anybody is buying this.

Roslin knows Tory’s been hanging with Baltar and calls her on it. She wants to know who’s been telling Baltar about Roslin’s visions. Roslin later has a vision that includes Baltar. Baltar tells Tory that Caprica Six has been telling him about the visions.

Starbuck tells Roslin the stuff from the Hybrid about a dying leader knowing the truth of the opera house. Starbuck, Roslin and Baltar all head off to talk to the Hybrid. Meanwhile Hera has been drawing all these pictures of Six, which really freaks out Athena. When Hera tells her “Bye-bye,” and begins running toward Six (just like in the visions) Athena ventilates the Six. Not sure if she’s really dead though.

It’s two weeks until the next new episode. Curse you, Moore and Eick! More time to speculate about the Fifth and Final Cylon.

Good episode. I also agree Gaeta has a very beautiful singing voice, i would buy the album. If Athena wants to walk around aand blow other Cylons let here do it.
