Blink Scribe To Helm Doctor Who

According to The Hollywood Reporter, BAFTA award-winning writer Steven Moffat will take over as lead writer and executive producer of Doctor Who.

Moffat is the writer behind the exceptionally creepy episode “Blnk” and he also wrote the screenplay for the new TinTin adaptation from Steven Spielberg.

“My entire career has been a secret plan to get this job,” Moffat said. “I applied for it once before but got backed because the BBC wanted someone else. Also, I was 7.”

Russell T. Davis will turn over the baton for season five which will air in the UK in 2010.
