Boll Says Postal Film Not Given A Chance
May 22, 2008 by brian
The king of bad video game film adaptations, Uwe Boll, is lamenting that only 13-15 theaters nationwide will show his latest video game movie Postal. Boll told MTV News he blames “political correctness.”
Postal features George W. Bush and Osama bin Laden walking hand-in-hand into a mushroom cloud, among other provocative images. In an interview that lets you know just how out of touch with reality Boll is, he compares Postal with Taxi Driver and Wedding Crashers. The famously hacky director also questions the fate of independent films among summer tentpoles like Iron Man or Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. As a side note, what nitwit schedules Postal to open the same week as Indy? That’s a bigger suicide run than anything ever attempted in the video game.
But back to my original point, Postal being in the double-digit mark as far as theaters just reinforces what everyone knows. Boll is possibly the worst filmmaker in history. Combine that with the also well known fact that video game movies are almost always bad. Political correctness isn’t in play here, it’s just common sense.
