Cusack Gets Apocalyptic in 2012
May 23, 2008 by brian
Variety reports that one of my fave actors, John Cusack, has signed on for the lead in Roland Emmerich’s film 2012. The movie takes on the Mayan calendar legend that the world is slated to end in the year well – 2012.
After an event that wipes out the world as we know it, the survivors must struggle to rebuild their lives. And then Cusack shows up outside Ione Skye’s window with a stereo playing Peter Gabriel’s In Your Eyes. O.K. not really. But you know you’d be there if he did. Seriously, the Cusack rocks.
Joining Cusack in these world-ending adventures is the fast-rising star Chietwel Ejiofor, who genre fans remember from his role in Serenity. He’s also drawing rave reviews for his starring turn in Redbelt.
This one should start filming in July unless, (and you’ll be hearing this phrase a lot) it’s delayed by an actor’s strike.

I did not know you were such a girl. I hope this doesn’t suck as bad as 10000 B.C.
Hey, you don’t have to be a girl to like John Cusack. And where’s my two dollars…
I’m soooo glad he is making more movies. I read all the time that he does not think he is very good. I have almost all his movies. I really love them. I don’t even watch anything else. I look forward to going home at night and seeing his movies with Him, John Cusack, in them. I hope he continues to be in the movies. He is great.
The Cusack is awesome. His modesty is probably part of what makes him good at the craft. Actors who feel like they’ve got nothing left to learn, even the great ones, end up phoning it in.
Hey Karen I really love him too. I want to talk with you, contact me by e-mail. Please. Talk about him together.
