Laura Roslin, Final Cylon?

May 28, 2008 by Cynthia

President Laura Roslin At least that’s the deal according to an extremely scientific sampling of our dedicated fanbase. It would explain visions, questionable decision making at times (like agreeing to an alliance with the rebel Cylons really quickly) and how a blood transfusion from a hybrid baby temporarily stopped her cancer.

Her opposition to Starbuck would make some sense too. The cast knows apparently, but they’re of course not talking under penalty of death. Maybe not death, but it would be a minute before Battlestar Galactica brass called them for another role. Of course, if Bionic Woman is any indication would that be a bad thing?

Seriously though, check out our next poll about this season’s dearly departed shows. We want to know which one you think deserves another shot the most. Vote in the poll, but please remember we’re not with any network. Don’t send us peanuts, vampire fangs or butter cookies. Wait, we take that last one back. Drown us in butter cookies.

  1. Unfortunately I’ve lost so much faith in the creative team behind BSG these days that I really think it the 5th cylon will be as random and make as little sense as the last 4 we learned about.

  2. Brian Allen says:

When we talked to Katee Sackhoff she said Michael Hogan was extremely unhappy about being a Cylon, but she thinks he’s accepted it now.

  3. Yeah i remember when they first revealed it reading an interview with Moore and he said Hogan was like “Well how’s THAT going to work?”

It was obvious to even the actor that this was a recent idea and not something planned from the start; and something that made no sense at all with the development they had done so far w/Tigh.

  4. Brian Allen says:

If even if he doesn’t agree, Hogan has been great with the hand he’s dealt. I want a T-shirt with him telling Tory “You don’t have to get on your back.”

  5. Femvamp says:

I think it would be really cool if Roslin was the final Cylon. It’s what I’m hoping. Plus it would explain alot.

  6. Brian Allen says:

Now that they’ve teased it, I’m almost certain they’re not going to do it. It really would make some sense, though.

  7. Jon Von Stein says:

The whole show sucks if you ask me …they deviated so far from the original Galactica…its becoming way to drawn out and dull

    Get to the point already!

Enough bullshit with the multi models of the 12 .. way too confusing

At least have them wear numbers! LOL I mean instead of all the models having the same “number” they should have had them go around calling themselves Deanna 1,2,3,4…. etc. Kinda like Logan’s run ..LOL

I recently watched BSG from the very beginning, in the run up to season 4.5 and actually there are clues throughout the seasons about the fact that the Chief, Tigh, Anders, and Torri, are cylons. The chief, after learning that Boomer is a cylon, becomes plagued with his own doubts and fears about being a cylon, culminating in his violent outburst at being woken by Cally. There’s a moment, when the Galactica is under attack, that Tigh shields Adama from an explosion, reminiscent of 6’s protection of Baltar. When Torri takes over as Roslin’s assistant, we quickly start to see an anger creeping up through the surface. On New Caprica, and this is the one I love most, the Chief, Anders, and Tigh, are planning their next attack on the cylons. Anders says we can’t attack civillian locations like the market, its not who we are. Tigh says didn’t you know? ‘We’re evil men, in the garden of paradise, sent to cause chaos and destruction’ (not the exact words). This is all said long before they ever discover that they are the final cylons. So the idea that the final five cylons were just randomly chosen is clearly not true. As for the BSG haters, what can I say? Its your opinion I guess, but for me, BSG is not only the best scifi, but the best drama I’ve seen in a long long time, and I’m looking forward to Caprica, and learning about how the cylons were created, and how events converged leading up to the first cylon war.
