Berkley, Evigan Join Darko Sequel

Showgirls and Saved By the Bell star Elizabeth Berkley has signed on for the sequel to cult hit Donnie Darko, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Joining her is Briana Evigan from Step Up 2 The Streets.  Showgirls and Step Up 2 The Streets? Is this a Dirty Dancing sequel?

Anyhow, the sequel picks up seven years after the first movie. Donnie’s sister Samantha is plagued by bizarre visions. Berkley plays a recovering drug addict now addicted to religion and impure thoughts about her pastor. Evigan plays Samantha’s best friend.
