Makes a 30-year Who fan happy. BTW Ryn, how do you consider 16 years between seasons "no more than relatively brief"?? :) I’ve been watching & enjoying Middleman, and have gotten a vague Doctor Who vibe off it, but now it’s no longer vague — tonight’s episode had no less than three Who references (plus a mention of Pan-Galactic Gargle Blasters). And though there are some vague similarities, Middleman has more of a superhero comic book feel to it. This seems like an american version of the ong running brittish scifi series doctor who. The pop culture references, snarky and cool main character and pretty companion are all taken from this series. That show hoever was originally aired in 1963 and survives to this day with only relatively bridef absences from the air. So I think, if this show looks good to you, go to scifi channel at 9 on friday nights and watch the doctor in action instead. I think it looks fantastic and i agree with you, it seems very "smart" and they girl is extremely fast talking but it doesn't seem like people won't be able to get it..
