Supernatural Stars Summer Films: That’s a Wrap

My Bloody Valentine 3-D scribe, Todd Farmer, visited the set last week and wrote about it on his blog.  Included was this quote about Supernatural star Jensen Ackles.

“His role is one of those challenging rolls that can be played vanilla or stunning. It’s a risk for an actor to take on a roll like this. I once saw an actor not only lose his job but I personally rewrote his character out of the script because the actor had gone with vanilla. Jensen went with stunning. I watched him shoot a scene on night two that gave me goosebumps. Patrick refers to him as a young Steve McQueen.”

My Bloody Valentine 3-D is currently shooting in a coal mine in Pittsburgh and is expected to wrap in a couple of weeks.

Jensen’s TV brother, Jared Padalecki acquired some new scars during the shooting of Friday the 13th – one when he had his head pushed through a candy glass bus window. Breakaway glass doesn’t always break away as cleanly as its supposed to.

Over at Bloody-Disgusting, Jared talks about his first encounter with the Friday the 13th franchise.

Says Jared, “I have a buddy named Eric, he lived near a park named Camanche Park. This is my earliest vivid memory, I know I had watched it before, but I must have been 10 years old and I was over at his house and we were having a sleepover. And he was like ‘Hey lets go into Camanche Park.’ And I was like ‘Alright.’ We were trying to scare each other going through and to scare each other we were going ‘Kill, Kill. Kill, Ma, Ma, Ma.’ I remember that very, very, very vividly that must have been at least 15 years ago.”

Friday the 13th is due to wrap filming in Texas on. . .you guessed it, this Friday, the 13th. It will be released on Friday the 13th in 2009. Next up, Jared heads for Australia and a con appearance in Sydney then it’s back to Vancouver for an early return to Supernatural.
