Jericho Fans, Head to The Polls
June 23, 2008 by brian
With all this heated debate about Jericho going on our boards, I thought we’d poll the fans to see which network they think would be the best fit. This one will allow users to add their own choices in case there’s an interesting scenario I didn’t account for.
The story of Jericho has been a unique one with arguably more twists and turns off the set than on it. Canceled, revived and then canceled again in the middle of the debacle that was 2008’s strike-shortened TV season. Through it all, its fans have proclaimed they’ll follow Jericho anywhere.
Perhaps something about fighting against seemingly impossible odds strikes a chord with fans of a show where characters – well, fought against seemingly impossible odds. Whatever happens with Jericho’s journey and the actors that brought it to life, expect to read about it here at SFUniverse.

Actually, any cable station is fine with me. I shall make it work even if I have to pay someone to record it for me.
The one pro viso (for me) is that it be accessible to ALL the fans. So, if, let’s say Comcast does a deal to show it on one of their proprietary channels, it would have to air secondly on a cable station that would be accessible to non-Comcast subscribers – or available for download or something. AND I would want it distributed internationally as well.
ALL the fans are fighting; ALL the fans should reap the reward.
I agree with N2. I want to see it on Sci-Fi network. Battlestar Galactica is through after this season. They had a great run, and I hope that there fans feel pleased with the series finale.
Sci-Fi needs something to fill that gap that will be left by BSG and Jericho would almost fit that gap.
Sci fi is the better fit for this wonderful work of art. I will follow it nomatter what network and so will millions of others.
N2 said it the best. Rangers from all over the world are fighting to get this show back and whoever decides to Save this wonderful show needs to make sure that it is accessible to all of the fans. Even if it is in a download situation.
My best guess is that it will be Comcast and some other network whether it be CBS or SciFi or Hallmark or someone else that part doesn’t matter to me because if it is on the air I will find a way to watch it!!!!!!!
Yes, Comcast and another broadcast network. I think NBC would be a wonderful partnership. They’ve sure done better in the entertainment end of things … such as Hero’s, which I also watch too. That way it would be accessable to everyone, and on “On Demand.” If it had to be, a cable network would be fine. Sci Fi is a good pick there, although TNT would be good too. Sci Fi has gotten a bit heavy on the commercials, however and seems to be following broadcast TV’s lead there. Hallmark is real good choice too, given Jericho has a lot of good family values.
On demand pay per viiew over the Internet! Partnered with a later release on cable.

Anywhere works for me!! I don’t have cable, but will find a place to watch or actually invest in cable for myself!!!
I definitly agree that all the Fans should have access to the show. I want Jericho to be shown where it will be taken real good care of with the network knowing what it has and how many fans come with it. I believe the best bet would be Comcast in partnership with say Sci-fi, TNT, or even USA. I think on TNT showing it with The Closer would be a great combo, and then if it went to Sci-fi combining it with Stargate Atlantis. A cable channel is a much better fit and millions of fans from all over the world will follow!! CBS will regret their decision soon!!
any place Jericho go’s i go!
We will find it where ever they air it. I don’t have premium channels so I hope it is not aired on a premium channel. I just want the writing staff and cast and crew to be intact. It won’t be Jericho if that doesn’t happen

Would love to see it on an over-the-air network like CW (so everyone even those without cable or sat can see it) in partnership with DirecTV mainly because I already have DirecTV. Jericho’s 6-8 dedicated fans is just what the CW needs with it’s failing ratings.
But to be honest I will take anything, I’ll find a way to see it!!
I personally would like to see Jericho return on any cable channel that is accessible to most fans (Sci-Fi, USA, TNT, etc.). And wherever it ends up, it needs to also be available to our international fans, whether that is via internet, in a downloadable format, or other means.
Any cable channel is good for me, although my first choices would be SciFi, TNT, or USA.
Jericho anywhere is fine with me. I will follow it wherever it goes. I do hope it goes somewhere where most or all can have access to it, like SciFi, USA, TNT or any cable channel. If it does end up on a PPV channel though I will be happy to pay for Jericho.
I would like to see Jericho go to NBC or a NBC cable/satellite network. There would need to be the ability for on-line streaming for our international Jericho fans or for those who are not able to get it via traditional ways. Most important, I want CBS Paramount to find a home for Jericho that knows and appreciates what they are getting and will work hard to keep Jericho alive.
Heroes would be a better lead in for Jericho than just about any show still on CBS. And NBC’s fall lineup has a great deal of fantasy/SF on it. Anyone want to place bets on how long Knight Rider lasts?
You’ll have to forgive me on this, but we have just taken an interest in Jericho and we’d really like to start watching some episodes to catch-up w/the story so far. Not only that, but we’re also interested in apocalyptic or endtimes philosophy. So, if you’ll allow me to appeal upon you–the loyal Jericho fans–and ask: Which season on DVD is the best to get for newbies?
–Godspeed–
Hi Rhyno! It is never too late to get into Jericho!! If I was a newbie I would definitly say get Season 1!! Once you see just the first few episodes you will be hooked!
Agree that the show needs to be available to everyone, including international fans. If a cost-sharing arrangement is necessary to keep the show as we know and love it (same cast, writers, producers, etc.), I’d like to see a Comcast or DirecTV pairing with NBC or Hallmark Channel.
I have Comcast cable and internet here where I live in Illinois (our cable comp. was just recently bought by them) I will watch Jericho on any channel at just about any timeslot that it gets. It really doesn’t matter to me…I can dvr it if I have to. The only time I wouldn’t be able to watch it live is if it is on during the day while I am at work or if it is on Sunday when I am in church. Either way, I can watch it online or dvr’d. I will go out of my way to watch Jericho…I always have and always will.
I would say FOX. They invest in their shows and give them time to grow. I also believe that all people have access to FOX.
I think sci fi or fox would be a good choice. At this point, I don’t really care….as long as it gets back on the air.
I liked prison break and 24 on fox and they seem to promote their shows well.
I think the fans will follow just about anywhere.
While I like both FOX and Sci-Fi as possible destinations, they both scare me at the same time. Sci-Fi has not seemed to show much interest in picking up Jericho for a third season, and a network that does not want to take Jericho head on does not seem like a network it will thrive on for very long before we will be fighting to save it again.
FOX is intriguing, but also scares me as I feel they have a bit of an itchy trigger finger. Sure, Prison Break and 24 have done great. But they have also had the fan support. Two of my favorite shows on FOX didn’t fare quite as well. . .Point Pleasant in 2004 and Drive in 2007. Point Pleasant was cancelled after only 7 shows, despite modest ratings and a slightly crazy fan base (sound familiar?). Drive was a great show that was cancelled (with a ginormous cliff-hanger no less) after only 3 epidsodes. I am not sure how the ratings were for that show, but I do know that over half of the 55 people I worked with were already hooked on it.
Personally I do not care what network picks the show up. I will be ecstatic for a 3rd season, even if I have to go out of my way to get a network that I don’t already have. My ideal scenario though would be something like seeing a rival network to CBS like NBC pick it up on a whim and having it air in front of a hit show like Heroes. . .
But that’s just me. . .

I think Sci-Fi would be great for Jericho, but as long as the UK can get it I’ll watch it anywhere!
I can’t believe we have to fight so hard to save such a brilliant show.
