Supernatural Cuts Cassidy Loose
According to TVGuide, Ruby, aka Katie Cassidy won’t be crawling out of hell anytime soon. Siting an overburdened budget and a poor Canadian exchange rate, Cassidy’s contract was canceled. Some months ago, Kripke confirmed that Lauren Cohen was cut, so that puts us back to square one with the cast, Jensen, Jared and an occastional Jim Beaver. That’s fine by me.
Eric Kripke, on the other hand, just signed a new contract with Warner Brothers Television, says Variety. The new deal will keep him helming Supernatural for another two years, while he works to develop a new series. There has been some speculation that this could be an Old West version of the Supernatural saga, but I’d put my money on something else . . . (insert Ghostfacers theme here).

Miss Cassidy wasn’t the best actress on the series…so I won’t miss her. Kripke though is always on this tight budget no thanks to the stinker of the CW Network who continues to overspend money on their stupid silly vanilla teen drama the gossip girlies.
