Rose is Turning Red for Sonja Remake

June 28, 2008 by brian

Someone stop the Robert Rodriguez/Rose McGowan tandem before they kill again. First they announced that McGowan will star as Barbarella in a remake of that cult classic, now USA Today is reporting that she’ll play Red Sonja in a revamp of that film.

Just say no, Hollywood, just say no. This is Brigitte Nielsen’s only claim to fame besides dating Flavor Flav. Can’t we let her have that much? Rodriguez is hoping this new Sonja becomes a film franchise, unlike the original. Rose, if this derails your career so badly you end up on the 2017 version of The Surreal Life dating a washed-up hype man (Lil’ Jon, maybe?) don’t say SFUniverse didn’t warn you.

this is so sad. you know you are not a credible actress when the only movies that hire you are remakes and your boyfriend is the director of it. so sad, maybe you take some acting lessons.

  2. OZZIE CHICO says:

I disagree with john….she was very good in the movie Scream with Skeet Ulrich…and has done much t.v. work and many movies that show off her long range of acting out different roles….she has done comedy, drama, horror movies, and sci-fi movies. Her taste in boyfriends sucks…but she is a beautiful actress….and I enjoyed seeing her as Paige on Charms. So you go girl.

  3. Rhyno says:

Why…This is yet another example that it’s the writers that make Hollywood noteworthy & earn them awards…Whereas, w/o them, we–the public–have to hear news like this & watch it if nothing else better is playing @ theatres…Lesson learned–pay them what they want!…Jeez.

Incidentally, you forgot “Cobra” & “Rocky 4″ that made her known as well.

    –Godspeed–
