Did We Need Another Mummy?

I’m actually a fan of the Brendan Fraser Mummy flicks. Fraser does a good job of playing the comedic Indiana Jones-inspired action hero Rick O’ Connell. But I’m worried they’re running the franchise into the ground. Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, really? What’s next? The Mummy: Walt Disney’s Refrigerator?
I see pretty much everything Jet Li does so I’m there but I don’t have any huge expectations for this one. I’ll eat some overpriced popcorn, kill 90 minutes and likely forget this happened once I stop writing about it. I think I’m more interested in the Journey to the Center of the Earth remake, just because I want to see if they did a decent job. Hey, Brendan’s got this “poor man’s action hero” thing down to a science. If it stops him from doing a sequel to Bedazzled, I’m in favor of it.
I can’t wait to see the new Mummy movie. I think the dynamic with the son will really prop up the franchise. But what took them so long?
Oh come on, that scene where he speaks spanish w/o even realizing it & his reaction was so funny in “Bedazzled”. Of course, I’m not saying that one scene could not save the whole.
A Jet Li fan I’m not. Neither am I into this “crouching-tiger, hidden-dragon, fight-by-wires, kung-fu” style that’s so popular lately. So I’m not sure I’ll be in line to see this one. Give my the ‘Bourne’ battle style anyday and I’ll be there.

I love Bredan Fraiser movies from george of the jungle to Dudley Do-Right, so I will be there at both films. I do want to see Bedazzled 2: Electric Bugaloo co- starring Orlando Jones.

Oh yeah, why do you think I’m so amped about Bourne fighting style?
I own it, but I have yet to finish it. I’ve got over 3 PS3 games that look so spectacular on my LCD HDTV that it’s hard to stay w/one game’s visuals till I finish it.
Right now, I’ve gone back to Assassin’s and believe I’m close to finish the game. If not, that’s OK, I’m having fun sync w/viewpoints, save citizens & terminate Templar Knights.

I also like Brendan Fraser so I have many of his DVD’S ….including the Mummy 1 & 2…my friends and I saw the promo for the 3rd one with Jet Li ,and we can’t wait to see it…we went to see ”HANCOCK”, with Will Smith ….and came across the 3rd promo of the ”MUMMY”. I think after the third movie…that most then come to an end. Like ”Lord of The Rings”. 3 I guess is a lucky #.
Yeah, I will see this mainly because of Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh. As a side note, did the Chinese actually mummify their royalty? If so, fantasy films have taught me something.
Mummification I think belongs to the Egyptians, but I’m not sure…Ancient Chinese burial services, I am not familiar with…
