Acclaimed action-film director John Woo has signed on to helm the movie treatment of comic book Caliber, an adaptation of the Arthurian legend set in the American Wild, Wild West.

Caliber is a creation of Barry Levine’s Radical Comics.  They’re a very new player on the comic book scene but with announcements like this, they’re clearly shaking things up. The concept of Caliber definitely sounds interesting. I’ll have to check this out and let you know about my findings.

Of course, since they’ve hired John Woo to direct this they’re going to have to go back and add some doves and churches to these books if there weren’t any already.
