The Mighty Aphrodite Comes to The CW

A bit more fantasy than scifi, Valentine is the newest dramedy on The CW Sunday schedule.  It revolves around a family of Greek Gods here on Earth with the express purpose of bringing soul-mates together. 

Grace Valentine (Jaime Murray, Dexter), the Goddess Aphrodite, is the sexy and seductive matriarch of the family; her son Danny Valentine (Kristoffer Polaha), the arrow-slinging Eros, has traded up for a magical gun that makes people temporarily fall in love; Danny’s best friend Leo (Robert Baker), the muscle man Hercules, is the strong and emotional moral compass of the group; and Phoebe Valentine (Autumn Reeser) is the Goddess of the Oracle at Delphi, which helps the family track down and help bring soul-mates together.

Sounds like a romantic version of Charmed and that could make it a winner if it’s smartly written. Valentine premieres on September 21 at 8:00 on The CW.
