"Journeyman" May Be New Highlander

JoBlo reports that Kevin McKidd, star of the acclaimed but canceled Journeyman, could step into some immortal shoes in the Highlander movie revamp.
This could be a good casting. McKidd is a good actor and for bonus points is actually Scottish. JoBlo cites an interview with a Dublin radio station in which McKidd confirmed he had been approached about the role.
Journeyman’s short run was one of the true tragedies of the strike-shortened TV season, so it’s certainly nice to hear that McKidd is being considered for other high-profile projects. Good luck, Kevin, you deserve it.

I could almost get excited over this if it weren’t for the disaster that was “Highlander: The Source”. Maybe a new Highlander and a fresh storyline might recharge the series, but I can’t bring myself to get my hopes up. But short of hearing that Peter Wingfield was asked to do a Methos series, I’m not sure that any news on a new Highlander venture would really thrill me.
Except for the first Highlander movie, the rest of them sucked. TV series was OK, I guess; only saw a few of the episodes. That being said, I very much enjoyed Journeyman and was quite disappointed when it didn’t return. Here’s hoping that Kevin McKidd gets a better script and plot!
