September 13, 2008 by Cynthia
On Sunday, Sept. 14 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) FOX will present an encore performance of the series premiere of Fringe along with a couple of special surprises.
The evening will begin with an exclusive first look at an extended scene from the new film “The Day the Earth Stood Still.”
This contemporary reinvention of its 1951 classic is set to hit theaters December 12. It stars Keanu Reeves as Klaatu, an alien whose arrival on our planet triggers a global upheaval. As governments and scientists race to unravel the mystery behind the visitors appearance, a woman (Jennifer Connelly) and her young stepson get caught up in his mission and come to understand the ramifications of Klaatu calling himself a friend to the Earth. The film is directed by Scott Derrickson, and also stars Jaden Smith, John Cleese, Jon Hamm, Kyle Chandler and Kathy Bates.
But that’s not all, FOX is also presenting a preview of “24: Redemption.” This two-hour special event, which airs this November, finds Jack Bauer battling an international crisis, while here at home the nation prepares for a new president on inauguration day. Taking place just a few months before the new day dawns, “24: Redemption”will set the stage and raise the stakes for Season Seven, which will debut in January 2009.
Finally, after the encore performance of Fringe, look for a special four minute preview of the series second episode. In the episode, Olivia, Walter and Peter investigate the deaths of a woman who experience a pregnancy accelerated beyond belief and her senior-citizen newborn.
Fringe’s nail-biting second episode airs in its regularly scheduled time period Tuesday, Sept. 16 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
