How Many Projects Can Geoff Johns Write?
Sony Online Entertainment LLC has announced that renowned writer Geoff Johns will write the story behind the DC Universe™ Online massively multiplayer action game, collaborating with fan favorite artist Jim Lee.
“Taking comic books into the online space presents an exciting and unique opportunity for me as a writer,” Johns said. “I’m looking forward to creating a thrilling story that explains why the DC Universe has suddenly been populated with millions of new heroes and villains in a way that will engage players.”
In addition to penning critically acclaimed comics like Flash and Justice Society of America and now the story for a long-awaited MMO, Johns is also writing one of this season’s Smallville episodes. Johns is tasked with bringing the Legion of Superheroes to the CW show. Jim Lee is as stoked about this project as Johns is.
“We’ve brainstormed about the DC Universe many times but this will be our first time working together on something of this magnitude,” Lee added. “This really shows the level of commitment everyone on this project has to capturing the DC Universe in an authentic, compelling way.”
If this thing turns out, it’s going to be a comic book fan’s dream. Battling along Superman, or Lex Luthor if you prefer, should be a blast.
