SCI FI Channel Greenlights RelicQuest
SCI FI Channel keeps the original series coming, now greenlighting what it calls an “investigative adventure” series tentatively titled RelicQuest. Documentary filmmaker Bruce Burgess will host. Production is slated to begin in October with the one-hour show’s premiere in early ‘09.
RelicQuest is described as an action and adventure series that travels the globe in search of some of history’s greatest relics and artifacts. Utilizing worldwide contacts and exclusive access to restricted sites, RelicQuest promises to be the action-packed thrill ride through the world’s most interesting sites, as you have never seen them.
One of the initial six episodes will send Burgess to Cairo, Egypt where he attempts to learn who Moses really was and unravel the true story of what happened on Mount Sinai. He’ll also go to the ruins of Montsegur Castle, to investigate the Holy Grail of the Cathars, a small cup that was said to have enormous healing and spiritual powers. Other journeys will take viewers to Amman, Jordan on the trail of the Armageddon Priscillian Codex, a sought-after document said to be a prophecy for the alleged “end times.” Um, So Dark the Con of SCI FI Channel?
What do our readers think? Does some real life history have a place on SCI FI Channel or is this show going to be history after a six episode run?
