Supernatural In the Beginning: First Look Clips

by Cynthia on September 30th, 2008

Here are a couple of clips to tide you over until Thursday.  And for those who suggested I purposely started a riot with my review of this episode let’s just say that maybe I wanted you to look right when you should be looking left. . .

    Yaaaaay… XDDDD
Very mature reaction I know, haha..thanks for this!!
    “I am going to hell..again..” :))))

Where’s Sam in this episode? That’s what I want to know.

Sam died! There, ya’ll happy? Annoying, whining fangirls bring the show down.

On the other hand, interesting epi. Looking forward to get the questions answered.

Jesus, Castiel has to learn about people skills.

On another hand, I have never found creepy so hot.

And the last clip. I love the way Dean does the eyebrow thing when he says again. So CUTE!

    I heart you Jay.

Thanks for the clips Cyn. But now I’m all anxious about your little sleight of hand.

Why isn’t it Thursday at 9:00 ET yet? Why?

Ha! Jensen is brilliance. And with this:

“maybe I wanted you to look right when you should be looking left. . .”

I’m more sure than ever that Castiel pulled Dean out of Hell solely so that he could serve Special Sam. Sigh. Oh well, at least the episode looks like a lot of fun. :)

    Sep 30, 2008 at 4:22 pm

So I’m guessing that even when Sam (Padalecki) isn’t in the episode it’s still all about him, right? So all the whining and moaning is for nothing.

I love Castiel. Creepily watching Dean sleep, it makes me giggle.

I hope we get the answers to Mary’s reaction to Azazel.

““maybe I wanted you to look right when you should be looking left. . .””

I don’t know it seems like it just got various people on both sides upset. Sam fans because he’s not in it. Dean fans because it’s apparent Dean’s role hasn’t changed one single bit, in fact it’s gotten even more subservient and reliant upon Sam’s.

Jensen’s acting skills sometimes are good, sometimes are crap. That first scene made me cringe.

  • Jen
    Sep 30, 2008 at 5:04 pm

I don’t appreciate being yanked around. Better to have said nothing at all about Sam’s non-existent physical role in this episode than to have said what you said. I was looking forward to the episode until I read your review, now I’m going to spend the whole episode being angry because they’re screwing with us, just like you did. And you did it on purpose, just to rile us up. Why?

Castiel has got to learn what’s creepy and what’s just odd. Dean is amusing with his bit about going to hell again. I want to see Dean’s reaction to the car he has to drive, that should be good.

As a sam fan i am glad to know Sam is only in the episode 40 secs. I am prepared now, i would have been even more disappointed if I watched the episode without knowing. And Cynthia was not actually the first to say so, Buddytv also said it. Cynthia actually gave this Sam fan alot of hope with her cryptic comments about Sams role in this even though he is not there. So thanks for warning us sam fans!

“Jensen’s acting skills sometimes are good, sometimes are crap.”

I find Jensen’s acting to always be very good. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for his co-star, Padalecki, who seems to miss his marks more times than he hits them. But hey, I’m sure he’s trying hard.

  • lovemesomemeat
    Sep 30, 2008 at 5:58 pm

Yes MissingSam, it is still All About The Speshul Sam. Oh boy! I can’t wait for the next two season of!! Ta Daaaa, it’s the Special Sam Superhour!!!! Yay!!

Kripke, thanks for the false hope.

  • Melissa
    Sep 30, 2008 at 5:59 pm

I agree Jensen seems off in the first scene.

Good to know that Sam’s going to get some attention even if he isn’t in the entire episode after a minute. It still irks but I hope we learn some interesting stuff about the boy.

  • DeanieGirl
    Sep 30, 2008 at 6:02 pm

“Jensen’s acting skills sometimes are good, sometimes are crap. That first scene made me cringe.”

Oh Diana I see the gloves are off. lol!!!

But not to worry I’m sure Jared’s Oscar-worthy performance will be back next week in all it’s nostril-flaring, forehead-scrunching glory. Of course you still won’t know what he’s trying to convey and then blame it on the writers.

You should rest up and enjoy your SPN-free week since I’m sure you won’t be watching this episode. Not that it will stop you bitching about it anyway.

  • Isabella
    Sep 30, 2008 at 6:03 pm

Thanks for the warning for this Show fan who is sick of Sam and his “speshulness” now I know Dean’s story is going nowhere. Still a Padalecki-free episode might cheer me up enough to make up for it.

I still like the show just like I have for the past seasons when it was all about Sam.

  • MissingSam
    Sep 30, 2008 at 6:08 pm

Lovesmesomemeat your comment about speshul sam kind of takes the sting out of your comment about Jared’s acting as its pretty obvious your opinion is clouded by your bitterness.

  • lovemesomemeat
    Sep 30, 2008 at 6:12 pm

MissingSam, yes it is. However, seeing as you’re a Sam fan and I’ve heard nothing but bitching about Sam’s 40 sec spot on an episode that’s All About SuperSpeshul Sam. I’m sure you’ll forgive me. :) But, my comment on Jared’s acting stands. He really does have a lot of misses.

  • Ali
    Sep 30, 2008 at 6:16 pm

Heh, I knew it was a matter of time before the Sam fans tried to come in here and bash Jensen. Nice try, Diana and Melissa, but nobody’s buying it. :P

  • Katie
    Sep 30, 2008 at 6:28 pm

The Sam fans who are bashing Dean and now Jensen’s acting are just so bitter it is sad. It is hardly as if Jared is some fantastic actor he has been off far more then Jensen. It is not Jensen/Dean’s fault you do not get what you want with Sam and I am so sick of the hateful bitterness he is getting from some Sam fans.

  • Bluaaaa
    Sep 30, 2008 at 6:35 pm

Cynthia if it was your wish to upset the fandom then Congrats…you got your wish…this will break the show and there will be no way to pull it back.If i was watching the show without coming online(and i was till last weeks episode) then i can tell you for a fact that if i watched this up- coming episode and there was no Sam i would not be watching again becouse I love both boys and this show will suck without both. What they are doing to Sam so far this year and what they are leaving him out of is not excusable,I have watched this show from the beginning and for them to hand Moms”Im sorry”over to Dean just breaks it for me.Why they couldn’t find Dean his own SL is beyond me.I see this leading to S2 where we get Dean all messed up about what hes learned and taking it out on Sam again with a punch here and a cold shoulder there and the whoa is me im not worth living, why me….which they have been cramming down our throats forever.I say go ahead and have the Angel kill Sam off since he has to be evil and that will fix all the worlds problems and Dean can ride off in his nice car and get layed”again”.The End.

  • Beth
    Sep 30, 2008 at 6:40 pm

Wow. Everyone, can you please stop overreacting? And stop slating both actors. Please. It’s upsetting to see.
I’m a Sam fan, but i’m not freaking out. This episode looks awesome.

    Thanks Cynthia. (:

Castiel is a freak. I love him haha!

  • Suz
    Sep 30, 2008 at 6:46 pm

I totally disagree that Dean’s role is subserviant at all. Everyone in this life has a role to play to each of our talents. If Sam has some special power that can be used in a specific way to stop evil from running free, isn’t it just as important for the warrior who has to help him get there? Dean’s role in life as his brother’s keeper has great strength and meaning. It’s equally of value and can only be performed by him because his little brother trusts him so deeply. I have a feeling that when this all hits the fan, it’s going to come down to Dean yanking his little brother, who he loves more than anything, in the right direction to keep him from being lost. Bless his heart, poor Sam has been stretched to the limit with his guilt and it’s easy to get your judgement clouded when you’re trying so hard to do the right thing. He’d rely on his brother for help when he wouldn’t trust anyone else. Then, Sam can do what he’s meant to do. They are a team. I like that duality of the show. Both the boys have different but equally valuable places in life.

Now, let’s all us Dean Girls and Sam Girls go pour a drink and chill. We got all season and I don’t forsee another writers strike so we’ll all have enough tasty boy action to go around. And if you’re upset because your guy isn’t getting enough air time…. think about us JohnGirls, we have to live 24/7 in fastasyland to get our John fixes (or wear out our DVD’s in rewind!)

    Suz

  • Ali
    Sep 30, 2008 at 6:50 pm

“It’s equally of value and can only be performed by him because his little brother trusts him so deeply.”

Exactly, Suz. He’s only important because Sam likes him. Sam, of course, is important because he’s so awesome and powerful and smart and whatever, but Dean… Dean’s nothing, but he’s loyal. And loyalty makes for good cannon fodder, down the road.

God, I hate this show sometimes.

  • Katie.
    Sep 30, 2008 at 6:59 pm

Well obviously we should kill Cynthia.

Damn her for reviewing the episode honestly. Damn her to hell. *rolls eyes*

    Sep 30, 2008 at 7:03 pm

    Thank you for the clips!

I’m a Sam fan too btw. Just mentioning this to make clear that some of us aren’t constantly whining but enjoying the episodes. ;) This show is so great! I’m excited about Sam, Dean, Sam&Dean… and I can’t wait to see what’s up with Mary next episode!

  • Jay
    Sep 30, 2008 at 7:06 pm

And the whining fangirls strike again….I’m fan of the show and this is the exactly kind of thing that turns me off from the SPN fandom.

I watch this show mostly because I enjoy the horror factor and Jensen’s acting so if you are going to play critics and criticize his acting, make it valid or you just sound like bitter fangirls.

    Thanks for posting the clips!

  • Rose
    Sep 30, 2008 at 7:09 pm

Agreed. Why is everyone arguing? Can’t we all just enjoy the show?

Thanks Cynthia for posting these :) I appreciate it, can’t wait to watch it!

“Jensen’s acting skills sometimes are good, sometimes are crap.”

This statement is quite interesting. I’ve read quite a few critical reviews of Jensen Ackles work on Supernatural and while I’ve often read enormous praise of Mr. Ackles acting skills, I don’t believe I’ve read that his performance was, how did you put it Diana … “crap”? I find him to be quite a compelling and dynamic actor. He has a great ability to express quite a bit of emotion through his eyes and body language alone. I personally find his acting skills to be very good, actually the best on this particular show (along with Mr. Morgan). I do really enjoy Mr. Ackles’ performance as Dean Winchester and I think he’s been especially good in the previous two episodes that have aired.

And I realize this is only YOUR opinion, Diana, and these two clips are very brief, but I am astounded that you cannot recognize quality acting from Mr. Ackles in general. But I assume in reading some further comments that perhaps your comments were meant to rile up the other fans? I guess it worked. ;)

I came to this link from another Supernatural web sit to see these preview clips and I cannot believe that some (perhaps those who only watch for their own character?) fans would be so critical of this show simply because their character of preference isn’t featured. It seems to be that this episode will be highly entertaining, and from Cynthia’s other article, involve both lead character’s storylines in some way.

Thank you for the preview clips. I’m very much looking forward to Thursday’s episode.

  • Ashley
    Sep 30, 2008 at 7:52 pm

Ooh, I love these clips! Castiel was awesome, even for that little glimpse (loooved the way he said “what were you dreaming about”); I am so excited to see more of him in this episode. This seemed more like the Castiel attitude of Lazarus Rising, which I LOVED.

I can definitely buy these two as John and Mary as well, at least from what we’ve seen. Hahaha, and that last bit with Dean was definitely an instant classic, which Jensen of course pulled off flawlessly….

I was expecting to not get much (if any) Sam this time, what with the episode description being that DEAN is sent back in time, but it’s good to know that for sure now. It’s sad that we aren’t getting much Sam-n-Dean time so far, but to me, separation=more secrets=awesome/explosive secret reveal=yelling/fighting/drama=AWESOME

    Why isn’t it Thursday yet??

I hope we as civilized respectful persons stop bashing at Jared or Jensen because they’re both great people & amazing actors
It’s not about preference, it’s about a SHOW, where they both act & are both stars
Please people stop acting randomly & throwing harsh comments at Jensen just because you’re pissed he appeared in this episode more than Jared & please Jensen fans be wiser & don’t bash at Jared just because someone bashed at Jensen
I can’t believe our fandom is falling apart just because of Cynthia’s unnecessary reference to Jared’s brief appearance in this episode
Why don’t we wait & see?

  • Katie.
    Sep 30, 2008 at 8:28 pm

How is her reference unnecessary? She told the truth, she stated her opinions. Get over it.

I can’t believe fans are taking this out on her. She doesn’t need to be you punching bag of anger.

  • Sarah
    Sep 30, 2008 at 8:35 pm

I am ashamed at both Sam and Dean fans. BOTH of the guys work VERY hard to bring us the show each week and to bash their acting skills. Come on people! Just becasue someone says Jensen was off in the first clip (how can you tell anyway? It was 30 seconds of him waking up in bed.) doesn’t mean you can go off on Jared.

    Sep 30, 2008 at 8:48 pm

HI gals, please, stop to insult each other. Please, I am sure that Jensen and Jared don´t like that. It´s just a show, it is not a question of death. All the fans rock. If the show is more link to Dean, or Sam, it dosen´t have to be a problem for the fans, because I think, you are awesome gals, that watch a awesome show, and if Jared don´t appear in one episode it is not cause of insult each other. it´s just a show, if someone says that jared acting better than jensen or vice versa, it´s o.k everyone has their own opinion about it, and it is respectable because we live in the same dream. watchin supernatural.

  • Jay
    Sep 30, 2008 at 9:00 pm

While I appreciate Cynthia’s review and clips…I have to agree that this commentary:

“Sammy fans, get ready to rumble. Jared’s entire contribution to this episode is about 40 seconds of screen time. I assume that this is because he was working on the next episode which is Sam heavy and thus the trade off. . . but I don’t know that for sure. The comment box is open, feel free to leave your “Sam is a lamp” comments as you go.”

is unnecessary. Why calling on Sammy’s fans to get ready to rumble? If they are going to bitch and whine, let them do it on their own. Don’t encourage them by throwing gasoline into the fire.

Anyway, I’m seriously looking forward to this epi.

  • Jessie
    Sep 30, 2008 at 9:27 pm

    My God.

Most of you I’m ashamed to call fellow fans. Don’t judge an episode until you see it. Don’t go by what other people say, because their opinion is not your own.

And get off the immature Sam-fan vs. Dean-fan crap. It is juvenile and embarrassing. Dean finally has an active role in this show’s mythology. We’ve known from the beginning that Kripke’s main focus is on Sam. It is obvious. The fact is that the amount of support and reaction to the character of Dean has shifted his focus to be more equal in regards to the brothers in his story, in my opinion.

Trust in the Kripke. On the big things, he has yet to let us down. Yes, he has made some minor screw-ups, but the major parts of this show Kripke is the master of, and when it comes to the brothers, Kripke will do it right.

  • Jaylan
    Sep 30, 2008 at 10:30 pm

Please Katie don’t put words into my mouth as if I said them
Get over trying to push your opinion into others minds, I believe her reference was unnecessary & this is my opinion
Have an opinion of your own & please don’t claim that others are insulting when they don’t
Some of the girls in here are using poor Jared & Jensen as their bags of punches so don’t leave the main point (chaos in the fandom over unimportant stuff) & say things that are so unreal
People have the right to like/dislike an article

  • Nic
    Sep 30, 2008 at 10:46 pm

    Jay says:
“Annoying, whining fangirls bring the show down.”
Second on that! Stop whining, both kind of “fans”. Jensen and Jared are awesome actors. The storyline and the Show are GREAT and NONE of them deserve this kind of comments.

I just hope that this crap (this stuppid fight) doesn’t affect the ratings. Then I’ll be very very pissed at you, guys!

The Jensen Ackles fans are not going to be happy until Jared Padalecki is demoted from co-star to guest star.

All of you people who are fighting, I really hope you’re not more than 12 years old, because if you are, you must have a serious problem, I can’t believe you’re even offending to the actors for doing their job!!, it’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen.

Whatever, this episode seems to be one of the most wonderful episodes ever, I can’t wait to watch it!!.

  • Carol Annly

’supernatural’ IS the Winchester brothers. That’s just the way I like it. And I love ‘em both bunches. There’s no contest here. Enjoy the episodes we get and don’t worry - be happy. There’ll be plenty of Dean and Sammy to go around. Like I’m always telling my 12 yr. old grandson - Have patience.
Good things come to those who wait.

I am so ashamed of some of the supernatural fans.

I am a Sam!Girl and even I think that you need to stop talking out of your ass.

  • Nell
    Oct 1, 2008 at 2:28 am

Holy crap, people! I’m a little embarrassed for my favorite fandom rght now. All this hate and spitefulness going around, it’s shameful!

We are all fans of the same show aren’t we? Since when did it become about the Jensen fans and the Jared fans? I can understand being disappointed at not getting to see your favorite character in an episode, I’ve been there in other fanoms. But seriously? One episode out of 3 seasons with no or little Sam and the fandom explodes in hate? Who’s to say there won’t be a Dean lite episode later in the season? Is it really worth getting so hurtful and mean spirited towards our fellow fans for?

Neither Jensen nor Jared deserve all these hateful words, and I hope they don’t ever stumble across this. (They do look for articles on the show and themselves online, you know) They are both wonderful actors, both are sweet hot, and sexy as hell, and I love them both to pieces.

Am I going to miss seeing Sam’s face in the episode? Absolutely! I love my brotherly moments and I love Sam. But that doesn’t mean this episode isn’t going to be good, and just like many other people have said, even though the ep is Dean centric, it’s still going to be about Sam’s storyline. We are going to get a lot of questions answered. Questions I’ve wanted answered for a loooong time. So this can only be a plus in my book.

So why don’t we all put on our big girl (or boy) undies, suck in our bottom lips and act like the mature fans I thought we were. :)

“The Jensen Ackles fans are not going to be happy until Jared Padalecki is demoted from co-star to guest star.”

    OMG thanks for the laugh.

You do know what irony is right? Because it’s been clear since comic con that the Jared fangirls have had their panties in a huge bunch. That’s because Kripke (and Jensen) finally acknowledged that Dean hadn’t really had a part in his mytharc and that he was now bringing him fully into the story. The samgirls have been flipping out ever since because their assumption that the show would eventually lead to the SuperSpeshulSam, the demon hunter show. Of course y’all loved Dean when his sole purpose was to fuss over Sam but now that he maybe sharing some of the spotlight, y’all are just bitter. It’s really kinda pathetic.

On a brighter note, I cannot wait for this episode. As usual, Jensen is getting rave reviews from the critics who have already seen the episode. Go Dean!

  • Shivv
    Oct 1, 2008 at 5:35 am

Thanks Cynthia for all your hard work. I’m so sorry you have to deal with the moron contingent.

Castiel cracked me up, especially the way he’s all ‘yeah yeah yeah Dean, I get my freak on watching people sleep, whatever Dean…”

John & Mary are LOVE - this might be the episode that changes my opinion of John ‘Worst Father in the World’ Winchester!

  • Jacqui
    Oct 1, 2008 at 6:10 am

I have a feeling adding to the debate is pointless, but I might as well give it a shot.

I am a Sam-girl, but I am not pissed because the focus is on Dean this season in particular. The focus has squarely been on Dean for the last two seasons. People are going to say that it is all about Sam because big things happen to him, but really, the show has turned into how Dean reacts to Sams latest escapade, or power, or statement. At the moment, Sam basically exists as something for Dean to react to. Thats what I personally, am pissed about. However, I dont claim to speak on behalf of anyone else.

  • Cyndy
    Oct 1, 2008 at 6:24 am

I can’t believe how many people are saying that Sam fans should ‘get over it’. Of course they have no issue with this episode if they’re Dean fans, he has an entire 40 minutes while Sam has 40 seconds.

It’s all about balance to me and the show at the moment is getting it MASSIVELY wrong.

For the record I am neither one boy over the other I am bi bro but even I take some issue with this episode. I’d be unimpressed with any episode where one boy was in it for 40 seconds.

That being said I’ll still watch and I totally understand why people are miffed however lets not give fandom a hugely bad name, it’s not Jensen’s fault, nor Jareds, it’s the writers for taking this bizarre step.

  • Lee
    Oct 1, 2008 at 6:27 am

“Dean is to me, more fascinating because everyone focuses on the Chosen One and not the people with the Chosen One and how they’re affected.”

OK? Kripke said it himself during SEASON 2. He sees Dean as the more interesting character and that has certainly shown these past few seasons.

(ps i stole that quote from someones lj that i found. hope they dont mind)

  • elle2

I don’t get all the complaints but then again I just love the show every part of it, sure some eps stumble (like in S1 and some parts of S3) but each had a redeeming scene or two so I still rewatch them.

JA’s acting looks fine to me, he just woke up what do you want?

As for Kripke lying…not in my opinion. I’ll miss Sam to be sure but we’re gonna get massive payoffs in this eppie, payoffs that were delayed from last season’s strike so I say bring it on!!!

Thanks for the preview and the clips. I appreciate the spoilers…I’m so into spoilers and they don’t ruin my appreciation for the eps at all.

“Of course they have no issue with this episode if they’re Dean fans, he has an entire 40 minutes while Sam has 40 seconds.”

This makes me laugh. For three seasons we Dean girls have been moaning that Dean is nothing more than Sam’s big brother and all the Sam fans said that it should be enough. That Dean doesn’t need any more than that. After all, what could possibly be more important than being Sam’s big protective brother? We were told to chill.

Well, it does seem that Kripke agrees, Dean’s only purpose in life was Sam, and he gets pulled out of hell to continue that great and honorable job of being Sam’s big protective brother. Wow Kripke, the only reason you sent Dean to hell was for ratings. Great job. Too bad Dean still means nothing.

Now we are told that it’s wrong of us to tell the Sam fans to chill because Sam has only a 40 second spot in an episode where Dean is nothing more that a vessel in showing us just how super important and special Sam really is.

I wish they’d let Jensen go to Hawaii and have Jared do the episode so Sam can find out how super special important he really is. After all, if it’s going to be all about Sam anyway, might as well as have the character play in it.

    ha ha ha! that’s cute!
Thank you for the great clips!
“let’s just say that maybe I wanted you to look right when you should be looking left” Oh, come on you knew that when you mentioned “40 sec Sam” that there would be an uproar! ;)

You know, I really feel for the non-spoilered fans because I think they’re going to get blindsided Thursday night. I think we all watch an episode with the expectation that Sam & Dean will be together in some way — investigating, arguing, whatever. And for this episode to have ZERO Sam & Dean interaction will be shocking to the fans.

And it’s not necessarily a Sam/Jared vs. Dean/Jensen thing. Many of the fans watch for both brothers and their relationship. I know my favorite scenes in an episode always involve Sam & Dean together. I just think that there will be a lot of disappointment — there’s really no way to put a positive spin on 40 seconds for a character.

” there’s really no way to put a positive spin on 40 seconds for a character.”

Sure there is if you’ve got great writing, great acting and several of the central questions of the show being answered, especially if those questions are about the character than is MIA.

Of course if you only watch the show to see JP being tall, then of course you’re gonna be disappointed.

Don’t assume we know everything. . .remember, Kripke gets a kick out of making the fans wig out.

in other words, dudes, calm down! :)

Enjoy the fact that our show doesn’t SUCK like so many of them do.

Wow, the comments here are really embarrassing.

I have to admit I’m a little disappointed to hear about the lack of Sam screen-time and that’s because I love both brothers but what I watch the show for most is their interaction together. So knowing that will be missing disappoints me. I’m sure I’ll enjoy the episode because I’d like to find out more about their family history but I just don’t see why that should mean that I can’t also be disappointed at the lack of brotherly interaction. Sam may be there in spirit but yeah, not completely the same if he’s not actually there to interact with Dean in person.

I do think that this debate would be just as angry if it was Dean only in it for 40 sec because again I think most people watch for both boys and this is a big change (one of the reason Ghostfacers got such mixed reviews was a lack of Dean and Sam and they still got more than 40 sec). Again NOT saying this will make the episode bad but it does bring some disappointment for what is missing. I don’t see why that has to mean people who lean more towards Dean should automatically mean that disappointment means people hate Dean. I love Dean but I prefer both boys. Just as I love Sam but if it was Dean in for only 40 sec, I’d be disappointed that there wasn’t more Dean.

I don’t think acknowledging that disappointment means we’re bad fans or that we don’t care enough about Jensen and Dean too. Like I said, I love both guys. More importantly both guys love each other and I think as fans, it’s pretty disgusting to see you ripping on one or the other guy for no real reason that I can see but that you’re pissed at someone else for doing the same. It’s a never ending cycle and no “side” comes out looking good when you do that. Personally I think both boys are great and that they bring out a lot of great things in each other’s acting too. Stop being so insulting to each other and to these guys who are working so hard to bring us this show.

This doesn’t mean that people aren’t allowed to ever criticize the show or even the acting but this is definitely not the way to go about it because all it comes off as is petty and immature.

Personally I can’t imagine the show going down to just one brother no matter your preference because I think the whole point of the show is the two of them together and their bond. Of course I find the whole ‘which boy is better than which’ debate to be lame overall and fail to see why some don’t get the importance of both of them in their own right as well as together.

We have a show where there are only two main characters. We should embrace that seeing as it really is unique in that most shows are ensembles now and there are rarely any good buddy shows out there anymore. What’s more, not only do they have chemistry on-screen but they have it off-screen too. Not every fandom has that so why spend time fighting and making it a Sam/Jared vs. Dean/Jensen thing when they’re so great together. I guess I just don’t get that and I’d think that if they saw this, they’d be pretty disgusted by their fans. Especially when they’ve always given so much praise for each other.

Dean’s real purpose for being pulled from Hell is starting to take form.

    My favorite lines:

When Dean realizes he’s gone back in time, he asks if “angels got their hands on some Deloreans.”

When Castiel shows up in the passenger seat of the pinto, Dean asks if this means “God’s my co-pilot.”

And someone please tell me why every time someone travels back in time, there’s a reference to Tab. Is that the universal sign of time travel?

Oh sorry, pardon for the interruption, I was looking for a Supernatural forum, I think I came into the Romper Room thread by accident…..

    Goodness me!

It’s a show people! A SHOW! As I understand it, Eric let Jared go finish a movie he was filming, hence the short airtime he got in this one ep. ONE EPISODE OUT OF 3 and a bit seasons and it brings this reaction from people? Would you have rathered Kripke not film one at all?
I’m a Sam girl and totally appreciated the reasoning behind it and certainly wasn’t bothered one iota by his non-presence.

Enjoy the episode for what it was people and let it go.

    As you were.
