Alien Voices at Macabre Mansion

Back in the 90’s, Leonard Nimoy and John de Lancie formed a production company dedicated to reviving radio plays. They called on their friends from the “Star Trek” universe including Kate Mulgrew, Armin Shimerman, Nana Visitor and my favorite voice actor, Dwight Schultz and together they put on the most wonderful performances.
Called “Alien Voices,” the group performed radio plays based on classic scifi tales and these were recorded and sold on audio tape and even video tape! Yes, there’s nothing like watching a group of actors stand around and perform radio style — it’s a hoot. My favorite of all of the “Alien Voices” productions was “Lost World.” I have it on cd and I could listen to it every day, that’s why I was so excited when I heard about the Halloween special at Macabre Mansion.
Macabre Mansion is a website dedicated to keeping scifi, horror and fantasy radio shows alive. This Halloween they have a truly special week planned which will feature two “Alien Voices” productions, “The Time Machine” and “The Invisible Man.” Not only that, but they have a special introduction that was recorded for them by John de Lancie himself.
And that’s not all. Are you a “Dark Shadows” fan? They’ll also be featuring two radio plays from that show, “Dark Shadows, Return to Collinwood” and “Dark Shadows, The House of Despair”. The special introduction to these programs was recorded by Quentin Collins aka David Selby.
It all begins on Saturday, October 25th and continues through Halloween at Macabre Mansion. I hope you’ll listen in because I know you’ll enjoy all four of these rare performances.
