Clone Wars Makes Cartoon Network History

October 8, 2008 by brian

sw-tcw-ambush-yoda2-thumb Cartoon Network is crowing about the debut of Star Wars:The Clone Wars on Friday, which drew in nearly 4 million viewers. That breaks the previous record held by Ben 10:Alien Force which pulled in almost 3 million fans.

That’s got to be a welcome relief for Cartoon Network execs. The Clone Wars animated movie that set up the TV show failed to generate much box office buzz. That led many to worry if the Star Wars franchise had finally spun off one too many times.

But the family friendly Clone Wars, at least so far, seems like a perfect fit for Cartoon Network on Friday nights.
