Knight Rider Rolls to Full Season

October 21, 2008 by brian

kitt-day-thumb Another somewhat surprising full season pickup is the rumor that b5’s New To TV reports on today. Just days after FOX shocked the TV world by ordering a  full season of Terminator:The Sarah Connor Chronicles, apparently NBC has done the same thing for Knight Rider. Rider’s return to NBC has been met by pretty tame ratings and of course has taken a critical lambasting. When your show is about a talking car fighting crime alongside its driver, you just know there are going to be some snarky comments from reviewers. The original Rider battled those same issues but had a lengthy run and made David Hasselhoff one of the most famous people on the planet.

Our Cynthia Boris liked the 80s inspired action, noting that everything doesn’t have to be Sarah Connor-style dark or complicated. Her review inspired quite a debate on our boards. And you know what, that’s OK. It’s actually the kind of debate we want to get from our readers. We’re passionate about our TV and we know you are too. So keep it up. What do you think about NBC’s full season KITT-mitment to this new show?

  1. Now I’ve not seen the pilot that they’ve done so far, but the clips I’ve seen make the show appear quite good, plus the KITT car really looks the part now after I was initially a little skeptical about the change.
