Pushing Daisies May Live Up to Its Name
The only fantasy-themed show to pick up an Emmy for anything other than sound mixing or special effects is on the ropes. ABC hasn’t made a decision on ordering the final nine episodes of the season but did change plans for the 14th episode. According to E’s Kristin dos Santos, the 13th and 14th episodes were to be a two-part story.
Kristin says ABC asked producers to “cover all bases” in the 13th episode and do one that could serve as a series finale or transition to nine more episodes. The quirky comedy about a pie maker who can revive the dead with his touch has been critically acclaimed but hasn’t garnered ratings. There are days I think we could call this site “Critically Acclaimed But Hasn’t Garnered Ratings.” In any case, it looks like ABC execs will soon be deluged with a flood of daisies from irate viewers.

Chi McBride kills in this show. Does ABC have a ratings king in its lineup to do this. JERKS

I don’t like this show and won’t cry for it if it gets cancelled, but I will feel badly for it’s fans. I know what it’s like being on the edge of my seat on whether a show I love will get a chance, that’s how I felt before they picked up TSCC for the season. But maybe Pushing Daisies fans can take some comfort in that…I mean TSCC got picked up when it looked like it didn’t have a prayer. And so did some other shows that looked like longshots…Knight Rider and Eli Stone, for instance, so there’s hope for Pushing Daisies. They shouldn’t give up.
