Life on Mars Tonight: Tuesday’s Dead

November 13, 2008 by brian

Harvey Keitel, Michael Imperioli and Gretchen Mol are seen on the set of Life On Mars

Tonight, Detective Sam Tyler has to deal with a strange hostage situation that may be connected to his own – strange situation. Also, he gets a phone call from what sounds like his mother in 2008 begging him to wake up.

Life on Mars will soon be leaving its Thursday night digs to be paired with the returning Lost on Wednesday nights. ABC is hoping the two sci-fi shows will play well together, not unlike FOX’s decision to pair up Dollhouse and Terminator on Fridays.

What do you think, readers? Are you ready to follow Life on Mars to a pairing with Lost or is it too soon to be jerking a new show out of its time slot?

I think pairing Lost with LOM is a great idea. I love both these shows! They both have the time travel intrigue and great ensemble casts. I can’t wait for Lost to resume and I love everything about LOM from the costumes, the cars, the writing to the music and it’s even helping me get over the fact that I saw Harvey Keitel’s bare butt in the Piano. I can now see him as an excellent character actor and can forgive his saggy rear end.

As a fan of the UK original Life on Mars and its spinoff, I just wondered, is the American show just a shot for shot remake of the UK version – I heard that’s what the pilot was like, thankfully when the Office did that, they quickly started in their own direction.

Is the US Life on Mars doing the same?
