Gossip Girl Writer Taking X-Men to School

OMG! Rogue is so over Iceman and now he’s putting the moves on Shadowcat. That is not actual dialogue from the X-Men:First Class movie that Gossip Girl creator Josh Schwartz is working on, but who knows. Variety reports that Schwartz is being tapped to write a film that will deal with younger members of the famous team of mutants.
While much of the cast of the original trilogy of X-films has likely hung up their spandex, a franchise with $1.2 billion in box office clout isn’t going away. Fox thinks Schwartz is a perfect pick for a movie dealing with a younger cast of mutants. Possible members of this first class could include Iceman, Shadowcat and Angel. All are characters that had at least a brief appearance in the first three movies.
We leave it to you, readers: Are you thirsty for more mutant mania?

only if the movie has the opening like the O.C. and Peter Gallagher in it. Those eyebrows alone are a mutant power.
I LOVE the X-Men franchise and certainly want more, but I’m not so sure I want to pay money to see a bunch of teen angst dressed up in spandex and decorated with awesome special effects. Besides, how young will these new mutants be? Are we talkin’ college-age young or high-school age young? Because I always get a good chuckle when 20-somethings are trying to pull off high school. Maybe if Joss (Whedon) were in charge instead of Josh (Schwarz)… maybe.
Very super information.
