Dushku Defends Dollhouse

December 5, 2008 by brian

dushku-dollhouse-thumb Dollhouse star Eliza Dushku is trying to place a positive spin on the show’s placement in the worst slot on television. She told Sci Fi Wire that being at 9 p.m. on Fridays isn’t a big deal because “we live in the age of the DVR.”

Dushku also gave them some scoops on characters she plays in early episodes including a blind cult follower and a 50-year-old woman. I can’t imagine why FOX execs are having a hard time following this show.

The star of this embattled show is joining creator Joss Whedon and everyone at FOX in telling us to look away, no controversy to see here. And while everyone is saying the right things, no network ever says “This is the greatest show we’ve ever seen! Let’s put it on Friday night at 9, shall we?”

Pairing it with Terminator:The Sarah Connor Chronicles will probably result in two brilliant hours of television that absolutely no one watches. Dushku makes valid points about DVRs but most advertisers are still looking at traditional TV ratings. Someday DVR ratings and Internet downloads will be factored in more, but I will be shocked if that day comes in time to save Dollhouse.
