We could not make this stuff up if we tried, readers. TrekMovie reports that a man wielding a replica of a Klingon Bat’leth sword robbed two Colorado 7-11 stores.

The clerk at one of the stores recognized the weapon as a piece of Trek memorabilia and didn’t give the guy any money. The attempted robber, who is very much without honor, fled the scene.

Unlike me and just about everyone else that has read these reports, local police are taking this seriously. They say the charges will be the same as if the guy had held up a store at gunpoint. Sigh. The best punishment for this guy is to get caught, thrown in with hardened criminals and then have to answer the question about what he’s in for. On that day, it will be a good day to die.

Odd – I would think any decent lawyer could get it changed to “same as at knife point” as there are no projectiles involved with Klingon Bat’leth – it *is* a sword after all ;>

yes, but that is a huge frakking blade
