Galactica’s Chief Heads To The Bridge

It’s a testament to the success of Battlestar Galactica that its actors are quickly finding other work. Tahmoh Penikett is trying to unravel the mysteries of the Dollhouse, Jamie Bamber is heading for the British version of Law and Order and now Aaron Douglas (BSG’s Chief Galen Tyrol) will star in a crime procedural.
Zap2it reports that CBS has ordered 13 episodes of The Bridge, a show in which Douglas’ character will battle the bad guys in the streets and fight other cops in the conference rooms as a union head.
It’s another teamup between CBS and Canadian production house CTV. Reportedly CBS is very pleased with CTV’s work on Flashpoint, one of the surprise successes of the new TV season.
Douglas’ Tyrol has always been an important character in BSG mythology but has seen his role amped up even further as one of the “Final Five” sleeper Cylons. He has really shown his acting chops in the last half of Season Three and now in Season Four as he tries to understand what being a Cylon even means. Can’t wait to check out his new gig on CBS.
