Star Trek: Can You Sequel a Prequel?

April 1, 2009 by Cynthia

They haven’t even released the first movie, but Paramount is already working on a sequel to the new Star Trek prequel. According to Variety, they have hired Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof to write the script. Not a bad little group, I’d say.

There’s no word yet on the script, though they seem to be shooting for a summer 2011 release. Kurtzman was quoted as saying they’ll wait for audience reaction on the new movie before deciding on a direction for the sequel.

Speaking of the prequel, the poster here is the just released, new, new, newest one and frankly, I don’t get it. Looks like a ghost on a white background. Is there a point I’m missing? Feel free to clue me in.

on a closer look, looks like a spaceship in the fog to me

  2. Jeff says:

OK-obviously the Enterprise at warp speed(interpreted as hyperspace by the warsians who are doing the film). New effects budget. Same old Enterprise. “I like this ship”
