Warehouse 13 Wants Your Charmed Objects

June 13, 2009 by Cynthia

Imagine buying an brass lamp that turns out to have a real genie inside. Or maybe an antique hairbrush that belonged to Elizabeth Bathory (aka Countess Dracula). Cursed and magical objects are out there and they’re turning up at flea markets and even on eBay!

warehouse_13_trioDon’t get caught in a trap. Starting tomorrow, June 14, you’ll have help not only identifying these objects but there are two secret service agents ready to help you out of what ever jam the items get you into, courtesy of Warehouse 13.

Shoppers in Los Angeles at the Rose Bowl flea market, in New York at the Fort Greene Flea Market and the Brooklyn Flea Market should be on the look out for specially marked hangtags which will be attached to items similar to those housed in the Warehouse. Digital tags will be attached to items on eBay and Oodle and they’ll all point the way to a special website.

When you visit the site, you’ll be greeted by the Warehouse 13 curator, Artie Nielsen and he’ll help you figure out if your item is truly special or not.  If it turns out that your item is  “charmed” and holds some secret provenance, Artie will ask you to consign the object right away. Visitors can see what objects others have consigned via a large, interactive map of Warehouse 13. A continuous ticker will show the latest consigned objects.

There may be thousands of items in Warehouse 13 already, but there are still plenty more to be discovered. Looks like Special Agents Pete and Myka are going to have their hands full for quite awhile.

Warehouse 13 premieres Tuesday, July 7, from 9-11PM (ET/PT) — the same day the network officially becomes Syfy.
