Ghost Hunters International Returns to SyFy

ghost_hunters_international_stairsSummer is the perfect time for grilling, getting together with the gang and ghost hunting!

Ghost Hunters International is back with all new episodes starting July 8 with a trip to an 18th century prison in Wicklow, Ireland.

The website for the site calls it an exhibit in crime, cruelty and misery — one of the most haunted places in Ireland.  Right next to a link that says it’s a great place for children’s birthday parties! Sounds like my kind of place.

After experiencing all Wicklow has to offer, they’ll be on their way to Chili, Ireland, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy and Argentina. Just don’t get too attached to these globe-trotting ghost getters, because there are only six new episodes this season.

This time around Robb Demarest and Dustin Pari will be joined by two returning vets and two new hunters. Here’s the lowdown on the team from SCI FI Channel.

Robb Demarest – A native of Albany, New York, Robb joined the Ghost Hunters International team after three years with Florida Ghost Team, an affiliate of TAPS (founded by Ghost Hunters’ Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson). Robb’s responsibilities on the team have ranged from research, technology management and client relations, to his current position as assistant director. As the lead investigator of the Ghost Hunters International team, Robb hopes to push the boundaries of current knowledge in the field and approach these enigmas with the open-minded skepticism for which his TAPS counterparts are known.

Dustin Pari – A native of Cranston, Rhode Island, Dustin is a familiar face to longtime viewers of the Ghost Hunters franchise. Long harboring an interest in the paranormal, he began his career in his teen years investigating local hotspots in Rhode Island. He was later invited to join TAPS by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, and began appearing regularly on Ghost Hunters as an investigator. TAPS’ trip to Ireland in 2006 was a turning point for Dustin–during the investigation of Leap Castle, he had the most intense paranormal experience of his life when he was attacked by an unseen force in the tunnels beneath the castle. The Leap Castle investigation was his first investigation outside of the United States and it would not be his last. Since joining the GHI team, Dustin’s role has been one of both investigator and historical researcher, uncovering the truth behind centuries-old myths and legends.

Barry FitzGerald – A veteran ghost-hunter with 17 years of experience in paranormal investigating, Barry is memorable to Ghost Hunters fans for his work on TAPS’ investigations in Europe, during the show’s third season. Now, as a member of the new GHI team, Barry supplies his expertise in both ghost-hunting as well as his knowledge of the historical locations of each new investigation. Haunted by supernatural events he experienced as a child growing up in Ireland, Barry developed an interest in paranormal research and went on to work for two different paranormal groups based in Northern Ireland. He now dedicates much of his time to the development of new investigative techniques and research methods.

Brandy Green – A native of Farmington, Minnesota, it was Brandy’s childhood experiences with the paranormal that led her to spend much of her life exploring the possibilities of life after death. Brandy’s first ghost hunting endeavor began when she founded her own paranormal investigation group in the Twin Cities. Now she begins her latest feat as the Case Manager of the GHI team. After studying the psychology of death and dying, Brandy began to expand her understanding of the psychological, social and historical aspects of loss and the afterlife. She has worked to apply that knowledge towards clients and cases that her home team has worked on, as well as those that she encounters with GHI.

Joe Chin – A native of North Providence, Rhode Island, Joe’s interests in paranormals date back to his teenage years. Growing up, Joe remembers that the third floor of his tenement house was always lively with instances of unexplained paranormal activity. And although he experienced the supernatural as a youngster, he had no idea that people looked for the paranormal until he met Jason Hawes. Months after meeting Jason, he was asked to join the group and several cases later he is still a part of the thriving team. Since joining the team, Joe has cultivated what he refers to as a “skeptical curious side,” that spurs him to want to get to the bottom of things. He also relates this innate curiosity to being a computer technician, a trade he delves into in his spare time. When working with computers he always has to figure out what the problem is and how to resolve it as quickly as possible – similar to the work that he and the other ghost hunters do.

Ashley Godwin – A native of Winter Haven, Florida, Ashley is driven by the logical, the methodical and the scientific. Her recent years have been spent studying atmospheric science and experimental psychology. She is also a member of Robb Demarest’s local paranormal group, Florida Ghost Team (FGT). After proving to be a fearless and thorough investigator, Robb asked her to join the GHI team. Having never left the country before, Ashley thought the show would offer her an amazing chance to travel the world and explore the unknown. Though Ashley is the youngest in GHI, her expertise and insight into her field have proven to be of endless value.

Remember, Ghost Hunters International returns on July 8 on SCI FI (aka SyFy).

  2. laprns says:

Love the show but I am seriously wondering if anyone has mentioned Brandy’s adenoid problems? How on earth does this child breathe much less sleep with her entire sinus passages blocked off? Reminds me of some friends who did massive amounts of coke in the 80’s. This is so annoying especially since she NEVER shuts up. Barry, Dustin and Andy have each had to silence her on the 2 episodes I watched today.

Ijust finished watching the GHI season opener. When he was in the solitary confinement room and they thought someone growled and then they distinguished the word speak, I heard something different. I believe it said ” TO ME HE SPEAKS Ghost Hunters International”. Please pass this along and see if they will go back and have another listen. Thank you
    Charlie

hi i’ve seen a few of your shows and enjoyed them however something that conserns me is that the ghost hunters only stayed one night. In a science experiment to come to a conclusion you need to repeat the experiment at least three times. Therefore, i believe that to come to a full conclusion on whether or not the place in question is hunted the hunters should observe the location for at least two to three nights. Also you’ve already paid the money for travel and equitment and the hosts seem more then willing to accomadate your stay. The entities would also have a chance to get acquainted with the hunters and their equitment. plus the hunters would have a chance to go over what they accumulated from the night before and that would give them a chance to ajust their tactics while on site. keep up the great work.

    best wishes,
    Fred

  7. Janell Pritchett says:

    Janell P.

  8. Renee Dreher says:

I think this show would be a lot better if the investigators wore head cams so we could see what they see. I am tired of hearing “what was that, and I just seen a shadow.” But I still watch every week.

  9. Heather says:

Brandy is really annoying on your shows when your investigating she needs to stop talking so much and give it time for the recording to pick up stuff. And she also swears way to much for national tv.

  10. mollymab5 says:

Brandy needs to go, so sorry but her voice is so annoying. It’s like finger nails on a chalk board ***HORRIBLE**.She is not cut out for speaking. It maybe something medical she needs to address ASAP. As long as she is on GHI I will never watch this show. Gottta Go Now!!!

  11. I WOULD LOVE TO GET SOME OF OUR COOL SHIRTS

  12. Anna says:

I’m sure that Brandy is a nice lady, but seriously, I agree with those who said that she needs to shut-up during an investigation. I don’t remember the lady’s name from the first season (not Donna, the other chic), as much as I didn’t like her, she’s a hellava lot better than Brandy.

  13. zach says:

hey guys i would love to join even though you gots a full team i would love it it if you would e-mail me zstronghold120@yahoo.com so we can talk

  14. samantha says:

tis show id rrly scary n gud to watch at the same time n ver intersating…like u wuld never think tht things like tht can happen…=]

  15. GHIWI says:

I love everything about this except Brandy’s voice. I cannot listen to it, which mean I never know about the case because she is the case manager. It get’s especially worse when she investigates, she sounds like Charlie Brown’s mom in the Peanuts cartoon. I don’t get to hear half the show because she is everywhere and doesn’t shut up. I can’t take it. I think all of the other’s are great and I’m excited Ashley is back…but someone please get rid of Brandy…she isn’t that great of an investigator anyways, espically when it comes to EVPs.

  16. jenn says:

Agree with GHIWI & mollymab5. Brandy’s voice is awful. She probably can’t help it but it’s just excruciating to listen to and rubs the wrong way. Her voice ruins the show.

  17. Frank says:

I can’t not stand to hear Brandy and I am glad I am not the only one….If Jay and Grant are employees of Rooter Rooto…they should seriously unplug that nose for Brandy……I don’t understand her and the girl loves to gab…I don’t watch it if she is on, or I mute her butt…

  18. Natsumi says:

    Hey, you guys are awesome!!!!
To make an episode really special
you should go investigate the Roman
Colosseum! THAT WOULD BE SO AWESOME!!

  19. Natsumi says:

    Hey you guys ROCK!!
    You should investigate the
    Roman Collesseum!!!!
    THAT WOULD BE TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!
