He’s Torchwood’s primo concierge, providing everything from delicious hot coffee, to Weevil retrieval, to a rousing game of strip hide and seek, if that’s what will help get you through the day. He’s Ianto Jones and despite what he seems to be on the outside, it seems there’s something dark and mysterious beneath that perfect pinstripe suit.
Making Ianto walk and talk is Welsh actor Gareth David-Lloyd and he’s going to join me for a chat tomorrow morning! Late notice, I know, but if you have a burning question to ask Gareth, leave it here in the comments and I’ll do my best to get an answer!

1) Did you have to train more for CoE than for past series of Torchwood, because of the amount of action scenes?
2) At what point in your work on the first series did someone tell you that Jack and Ianto were going to be a bona fide romantic pair? Or did you find out when you read the “stopwatch scene”?
3) Was there a turning point in Torchwood for you–a scene where you felt like you’d hit your stride and really knew who Ianto was?
4) Do you like Cardiff? If ordinary people like us go who aren’t shooting DW/TW/SJA, are there things for tourists to do other than look at the former entrance to the Hub?
5) Do you fancy John Barrowman in real life?
6) Say a tantalizing hint about the first episode of Children of Earth.

how many times did the makeup department have to paint the cut on his cheek that shows up in every photo still from the new series?
I met GDL at MegaCon 2009 in Florida and I was a bundle of nerves. I wanted to ask him what he might have done if acting/performing had not paid off for him but I didn’t get the chance. I would love it if you would ask him that.
I’ve heard that you were a fan of H. P. Lovecraft long before you recorded the audiobooks. Were you also into M. R. James? If so, what is your favorite story of his?
I know you have been looking for work in these tough economic times. Have you gotten any work upcoming, and if so, can you give us a hint what it is?

After CoE has aired, what are your next plans acting wise before you take on a Panto this holiday season?

Ianto claims to know everything but… If we were to hold a trivia tournament, you (Gareth) vs. him (Ianto), in which categories do you think YOU would win?
Gareth…we know that you are game for most things when it comes to acting, like playing a serial killer (your scenes from Adam were fab!) or messing about with sexuality (Ianto or your role as the shady boyfriend of a transvestite) but is there anything you wouln’t play on screen?
