Futurama Cast Comes on Board

August 3, 2009 by Cynthia

comic_con_09__13According to Variety, 20th Century Fox has completed negotiations with the original voice actors on Futurama and all five of them will be returning to the booth for the new season. John DiMaggio, Billy West, Katey Sagal, Maurice LaMarche and Tress MacNeille have all signed on, agreeing to a much lower fee than they originally asked for.

This was only one area where the budget had to be slashed, Variety reports that there will also be cuts made to the writing staff and the turn-around time for each episode.

It’s a great leap forward, but don’t start checking your TV listings just yet. It will likely be more than a year before any of the new episodes hit the airwaves.
