Vampire Diaries Gets Full Season Pick-Up

October 21, 2009 by Cynthia

THE VAMPIRE DIARIESAccording to Michael Ausiello at EW, The CW has given Vampire Diaries a full season pick-up. That’s a real vote of confidence for the fledgling series that took Smallville’s place on the Thursday schedule. Though Smallville had a better week last week, it’s still tanking in the ratings and it’s hard to tell if that’s the show or the Friday move.

In other pick-up news, ABC gave Nathan Fillion’s new series Castle a full season. If you’re a fan of his from Firefly, you’ve got to catch him on Castle, particularly on the upcoming Halloween episode.

On the downside is ABC’s Eastwick. These witches have failed to cast a spell over the TV audience and it’s looking like the show will quietly fade off into the sunset and soon.
