Stargate Universe: “Light”
Air Date: Friday, October 23, 2009 @ 9 PM on Syfy
The Destiny is still without power and an attempt to alter their collision course with a star has failed. The situation is now critical. A plan is born to abandon ship using the last working shuttle, with the hope that one of three planets in close proximity will be habitable. Although this strategy initially raises the crew’s spirits, it is short lived when Col. Young (LOUIS FERREIRA) announces there is only room for 17 people and a lottery will determine who goes and who stays. Stunned by the implication of this news, everyone considers their fate. Some, including Dr. Nicholas Rush (ROBERT CARLYLE) and Col. Young, opt to stay on board. Others, determined to survive, vie for a seat on the departing shuttlecraft.
In the short time that remains, alliances are forged and others damaged while Eli (DAVID BLUE) tries to create a message in a bottle with the aid of a Kino. But, unbeknownst to all, forces are at work that no one could have foreseen.

With the Tokyo and London Sanctuaries destroyed by the Cabal, Magnus (AMANDA TAPPING) and the team get to work organizing and processing hundreds of Abnormals who have survived the attacks and have been shipped to them for temporary safekeeping. Meanwhile, Kate (AGAM DARSHI) carelessly releases a rare, one-of-a-kind creature. Kate and Henry (RYAN ROBBINS) set out on an adventurous hunt to track down the runaway Stenopelhabilis and bring it back to the Sanctuary. But the creature has other plans.

Well so far none of the Syfy shows are worth watching. StarGate Universe is a total flop. It has bad acting, bad writing and bad tech. 3 strikes and you are out. It’s even worse than BattleStar Galatica was. I don’t understand why they try and take a good SciFi show and turn it into a soap opera. It just stinks.
Sanctuary isn’t much better. I thought I would like the show because of Samantha Carder, but she keeps trying to pull of the horrible accent. She seems to lose it every time she has to say something with any emotion. The dialog of the show could be much improved if she would just speak in her normal speaking voice.
Jeff, Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) is a brit, born in good old essex, her accent only sounds weird if you have watched every single SG episode and think she’s american!
Although I do agree SGU is a bit slow at the moment, so were the others to start, i’m hoping they get to meet the fifth race somewhere in this one and answer some left over Q’s from SG1.
Please no cancelling either show, and bring back The 4400 and Dresden Files!
Why is it that good scify shows get discontinued and replaced by pathetic, amatuerish soap-operas swallowed up by eco-nazis trying to brainwash their viewers?
If Stargate would have started thi poorly, it would have tanked in season one! Why don’t you can the Hollywood foreplay, the left-coast wife swapping, and the old-man genius who loathes the military (who equally lothes the man-child genius)?
In fact, fire the writers and pay the original writers to comeback and save this morass!!! You turned this into another Galactica loser…..
I could write better material then this crap!
