Win The Prisoner: The Complete Series on Blu-ray- CLOSED
November 11, 2009 by Cynthia
No one wants to be a number, unless of course, you’re the number we pick as the winner for this contest. SFUniverse is giving away the brand new, totally re-mastered original The Prisoner series on Blu-ray. It comes to us courtesy of A&E and it’s a great tribute to a classic series. (Visit this site to see a comparison of the old film stock to the new remastered version.)
The 1968 series stars Patrick McGoohan as a man caught in a nightmare. After leaving his super-secret job, he is kidnapped and wakes up in The Village, a happy, Waldenesque town where people are numbers and no one is allowed to think for themselves. Under the watchful eye of Big Brother, Number Six, as he is labeled, must decode the secret of The Village so he can escape and get back to the real world. . . that is if the real world still exists to return to.
This Blu-ray features a newly remixed 5.1 surround sound track and hours of bonus footage including:
- ‘Don’t Knock Yourself Out’: a feature-length documentary chronicling the production
- Two Brand-New Featurettes: ‘The Pink Prisoner’ and ‘You Make Sure it Fits!’
- Newly restored original edit of ‘Arrival’ with an optional music-only soundtrack featuring Wilfred Josephs’ complete and abandoned score
- Ooriginal edit of ‘The Chimes of Big Ben’
- Production crew audio commentaries on seven episodes
- Archive textless material, including the title sequence with clean themes by Ron Grainer, Wilfred Josephs and Robert Farnon
- Image Archive with over 1200 stills
- Production Paperwork Archive, featuring scripts, call sheets and press releases (DVD-ROM Feature).
I love behind the scenes materials, so that DVD-Rom feature makes me giddy with joy.

#7 all the way, thanks!
always liked 13, under rated and under appreaciated
I would be #14 because it’s my favorite number.
#1 because it’s the best
I’d be 13 so that I could dispel all those superstitions about it being unlucky.
I would be #12! It’s my ‘lucky’ number!
I’d be a “7″ because I like the number!
If I were in the world of The Prisoner, I’d pick 3, since I’d be close to the knowledge and power, but not have the drawbacks of being number 2, thank you very much.
13 so people would stay away from me
If I were a number, I would want to be a Zero.
I would go with lucky number 116.
I would be number 6 because I love my man McGoohan.

I’d be 13, my lucky number
7- it’s my lucky number!
I believe I’d be the number 8, for many reasons…
I was born on the the 7th so I definitely would be number 7 if I were given a choice. Seven is a prime number. In some cultures its considered to be auspicious or even lucky. There are 7 colors in a rainbow. In Christianity there are 7 virtues as well as 7 deadly sins…take your pick. It took seven days for God to finish with creation. And there is a whole host of references to the number 7 in the bible. Yep…its 7 for me.
I’ll take my lucky number 7!
I would be number 7
Lucky Number 7!!
Seven
If I were a number I would be the number representation of Pi 3.141592654…
I would be 10 .I always wanted to be a 10
8 – close to the knowledge and power, but not so close as to restrict my options
I would be a 711:)
I would be Number 2, he gets to leave the Village, but nobody knows where the Number 2’s go.
I guess everyone that posted knows there is no Number 1. Nevertheless, that’s my choice!
