Duchess Satine Kryze tries to keep the Republic from interfering in Mandalorian affairs after attacks by the Death Watch, the splinter group advocating a return to the old warrior ways. But when Satine herself is attacked and framed, she sets off – against the better judgment of her Jedi protectors – to uncover the full breadth of the conspiracy and the faction’s true origins. No longer content to operate from the fringes, the mysterious Mandalorian Death Watch sets its sights on the “Duchess of Mandalore.”

“Satine is struggling with many fires now, and trying to keep them from merging into one large inferno that can’t be put out,” says Anna Graves, the voice of Satine in The Clone Wars. “She wants peace above all else, and will shout it as loud as she can. Historical pacifists are often met with more hatred and violence, but that seems to push someone like Satine to fight for peace even harder. I think with any culture that idolizes war and violence, some people will naturally rebel against that traditional way of thinking and focus their efforts on peace and tranquility. I’m sure a lot of people agree with her views, but I’m sure there are just as many who don’t. Her neutrality in The Clone Wars is such a beautiful cry for love and peace, which throughout history has upset those who idolize power and control.”

Set against the backdrop of a sweeping conflict which threatens to consume the galaxy, Satine’s struggle is all the more personal, however, as she faces upheaval from within her own constituency. Using violence as their language of dissent, the Death Watch threatens to unravel all of Satine’s efforts, and to undermine the peace she has fought so hard to preserve. But the war itself is a battle of ideologies. Despite their extremism – or perhaps because of it – the radical faction represents a popular opinion among the re-emerging culture.

“I see Mandalore as an old world, full of history and tradition. After years of glimpses into Mandalorian lore, it’s exciting to get new facts and faces,” Graves says. “Every fan has their own reasons for loving Mandalore, but Boba Fett opened the door with his intriguing armor and history as a bounty hunter. I know fans will want to hear more about Death Watch – and those who oppose them. To be a small part of that history is so exciting. Add a little Mandalorian-Jedi romance, and that’s good stuff!”

Ghost Hunters International: San Lucas Prison

Air Date: Wednesday, February 10 @ 9:00 pm on Syfy

The GHI team venture to Costa Rica and investigate the San Lucas Penitentiary, an abandoned 19th century prison known as ‘The Alcatraz’ of Central America. This one time penitentiary was synonymous with cruelty and isolation and was used for over 100 years as a labor camp for young prisoners. The Costa Rican government will make the island accessible to tourists for the first time, but with wild monkeys, boa constrictors, spiders and even crocodiles inhabiting the island, they want to know if there is something supernatural that also lurks on the grounds as well.

Following Amanda’s (Paula Malcomson) public revelation that their daughter was responsible for the MagLev tragedy, the Graystones must face the wrath of angry Capricans. For Daniel (Eric Stoltz) this includes a confrontation with Sam (Sasha Roiz) and Joseph Adama (Esai Morales) in which Joseph demands that Daniel reunite him with his daughter’s avatar — the essence of his daughter Tamara (Genevieve Buechner), living on in virtual space. Daniel also realizes he can’t deal with his grief in private — this is all going to play out on a public stage.

At the same time, Zoe Graystone (Alessandra Torresani) adjusts to her Cylon form and hopes Lacy (Magda Apanowicz) will help her escape to neighboring colony Gemenon. Lacy is concerned, however, that she is rousing the suspicions of headmistress (and STO leader) Clarice Willow (Polly Walker). While in the V-World, the girls meet a frightened Tamara Adama who doesn’t understand what she is or how she came to be here.

At the Global Defense Department, Agents Duram (Brian Markinson) and Youngblood escalate their efforts to track down the terrorist group responsible for the bombing.

Fringe has a big one planned tonight. Here’s the official description:

A Manhattan office building is rattled to its core, leaving only one survivor, and the Fringe Team examines his otherworldly origins. Once Walter surmises that what shook the building was something he discovered many years ago, the team races to Jacksonville to help Olivia reconnect with her past in order to avert what they fear will happen next in the all-new “Jacksonville” winter finale episode of FRINGE airing Thursday, Feb. 4 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Okay, so there’s not much to grab on to in that synopsis, but from what I hear, you’ll be grabbing on to your seat in this tense winter finale episode. So set those DVR’s because you’ll need to watch this one at least twice.

Right now, Fringe is scheduled to return with new episodes starting April 1 on Fox.

Looking back at the past seems to be the theme of the night. First up on Vampire Diaries: “Children of the Damned,” Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) recall the long-ago actions taken by townspeople including their father, Guiseppe Salvatore (guest star James Remar, “Dexter”), and Pearl (guest star Kelly Hu), leading to the devastating events that caused the rift in their relationship.

In the present, Bonnie’s (Katerina Graham) date with Ben (guest star Sean Faris) takes a frightening turn. Elena (Nina Dobrev) helps Stefan as he and Damon race to find the missing journal that belonged to Elena’s ancestor. Stefan learns the reason behind Alaric’s (Matt Davis) interest in both the journal and the town’s history. Damon discovers that an old acquaintance has returned to town with an agenda he understands.
